No, not like the bible. People are too quick to write the bible off and embrace propaganda.
When I watched it, my back had been turned on God for about 5 years, so that prejudice did not exist at the time. It was the extent that Zeitgeist would go to attempt to merge the world religions with Christianity that motivated me to go back and audit the bible for myself.

Who knew that my attempt to uncover the truth would lead me back to faith in God?

I've seen it in parts. I rarely make it through any movie without losing focus.

The Jesus/Christian part of Zeitgeist makes sense to me.

But, do I think everything is a conspiracy? No.

Agreed, there are many similarities between different religions so that doesn`t surprise me at all, perhaps only that it took so much time for someone to speak out.

The monetary part was also pretty accurate in enslaving us all with debts that cannot and will never be paid in full. Also like Jaque Fresco and his Venus project, he is right about everything! People wonder how his system would work in reality. Yes I know how it sounds and looks but the most improtant thing he says for this to work is that people have to change(evolve) themselves for this to work. Here comes a problem for those in power...why give and share? They simply labelled him a lunatic and sheeple follow the authority...really a shame...glad that his project still lives though.

Yes, I get it.

The "location" below my Avi says, "Standing on the Moon". That is accurate for me. I really see the world that way. I don't see it from my back porch.

And how anyone can watch "Pale Blue Dot", and still be Me, Me, Me - - is beyond me. But, we follow the animal instinct of survival of the fittest. Its really kind of that simple.

NO ONE takes Zeitgeist seriously anymore.

It is blatant NWO propaganda with absolutely ZERO credibility.

The zeitgeist films are theosophy based religious propaganda, theosophy being the basis for the NWO religion.

The philosophy behind the Zeitgeist movement comes from the writings of H. P. Blavatsky

Blavatsky worshiped Satan, which exposes the REAL agenda behind Zeitgeist...

Zeitgeist was created to distort reality and lead people AWAY from the Truth.

"The philosophy behind the Zeitgeist movement comes from the writings of H. P. Blavatsky who declared that Lucifer / Satan is the God of this world & the one whom she worshiped."

"...the TARGET of the film is Christianity. This is what they are after. To usher in the NWO they have to discredit and get rid of Christianity in order for them to succeed. They are very subtle in the way they work now. They are very slick in mixing truth with fact, as the Father of Lies always has done.

Joe Schimmel's article is one of the best written about Zeitgeist:

"Zeitgeist presents a long debunked theory that claims early Christians created a “Christ myth” that is loosely based on an alleged amalgamation of ideas that were borrowed from various pagan religions. However, serious scholars, long ago, refuted the ideas promulgated in Zeitgeist. To its own detriment, Zeitgeist quotes plenty of biased occult sources and very few, if any, primary sources.

"the worst thing about the movie is that it mixes some truth with much “that is plainly and simply Bogus.” "In watching Zeitgeist, I personally had a hard time believing so many lies could be crammed into one film."

"The most disturbing thing about this film is that Zeitgeist falsely claims that Jesus is mere ‘myth’ and not the Savior of the world. However, these claims clearly go against historical evidence to the contrary. Serious scholars and historians no longer question Jesus’ existence. "

"Overall, Zeitgeist repeatedly relies on the views of Satanists and famous occultists like Madame Helena Blavatsky and Manly P. Hall. Many historians document that Blavatsky’s occult teachings inspired the occult worldview of Adolph Hitler and the Nazi movement. One of the astonishing ironies about the Zeitgeist movement is that it came under the guise of exposing pagan beliefs and globalism only to end up leading people away from the truth of God’s word and into the occult and The New World Order!" Source

Richard Evans also wrote a good story on it here as well.

Both your sources of objection are religious.

Hardly unbiased.

What a load of bull...

Zeitgeist is about as satanic as, well, the bible.

The messages in Zeitgeist are simply:

Zeitgeist 1: "The world is seriously screwed up, and has been for many many years."

Zeitgeist 2: "The world is screwed up, we need to start fixing it."

Zeitgeist 3: "The world is screwed up, here's my personal opinion of how to fix it (The director's opinion - not mine)."

You do realize that the first movie was an art project turned movie, and the Zeitgeist movies really start with the second one?

If you really want to look at the claims, go to the website and get the pdf companion guide and do a bit of research. The religion claims are sourced. They aren't just wild claims and some/most source material is directly from biblical scholars.

I get the distinct impression that, as far as religions go, many people are dead set that we knew everything 2000 years ago and nothing learned/experienced since then is worth taking into consideration. In terms of religion we still haven't emerged from the dark ages. Heck, that can even be expanded past that... Most of our thinking appears to still be from the dark ages.

Here's an article that seems to actually explain Zeitgeist and its founder.

And in the article Tim Callahan of Skeptic magazine critiques the first part about Christianity.

Richard Evans is an arogant tool who doesn`t even know a difference between ideologies. How he came up to connect this idea with NWO? And where he came up with credits that would be needed to spend by the end of the week? It`s a resource based economy, not another monetary system. Also who said anything about making it a state property? The idea is to make homes for each and every one of us so we can keep it and produce enough food for everyone so we won`t be hungry. And all with a collective effort.

On top of that he can`t even spell his name right. Jaques Fresno? Also notice how he convenietly places quotes in between the lines of the context of the film to make it appease his ego.

The last comment says it all...

Chris said (March 6, 2011): I read your article about The Venus project here: www.henrymakow.com... and it is completely incorrect. They have nothing to do with the NWO agenda, they want to create a new social system WITHOUT any elite, without money, barter, debt or credits using science and technology, where the resources of the earth become available to all of the Earth's people without cost: thevenusproject.com... thevenusproject.com... - See more at: www.henrymakow.com...

As for the first part regarding religion, I bet they haven`t even tried to read books like Quran, Torah or Tripitaka. Thing is nobody is denying Jesus or Christianity, just making correlations to other holy scriptures. According to these 2 writers everything other than a Bible is work of the devil and has to be burned....something that went wrong with Christianity after Jesus....same thing happened with Hitler and his raich....now this sounds like NWO and the work of the devil...

I really liked the part about the banking system. It explained something that's almost impossibly complicated in a concise way.

It's only natural that what is expounded in Zeitgeist part 1 makes sense since it corresponds to an entire worldview. The question is whether or not the component aspects of that worldview properly reflect the evidence/reality.

What evidence?

The premise of the first film was to destroy Jesus. It claimed Jesus was born on December 25th which is wrong, we don't know when he was born, so the rest of the caomparisons with Christ are false.

Zeitgeist has a humanist agenda.

Jesus' actual birthdate is irrelevant. The fact that it's celebrated on 12/25 is the point.

It is relevant, because it is a false celebration of his birth. Not to mention that Jesus is a historical figure.

The whole video of Zeitgeist makes the claims that Jesus was the same as other deities that predate him or followed him. But, the comparison is false right off the bat, since his birth date is wrong. They tried to reduce the significance of the existence of Jesus.................again.

Don't blame ( the film makers ) for falsifying the date, lol.

I'll refrain from debating the historical Jesus.

Why do you suppose though, 12.25 is the agreed upon date of his birth?

Is it not something touched upon in the film?

Jesus was born on the 294th day following the Vernal Equinox, or the 24th day of the 9th Hebrew month. In modern times it falls in January, but in 4 BC, it coincided with the Saturnian Festival due to the slow drift of the Roman calendar.

If you want a factual in-depth look at the historicity of Jesus then Zeitgeist is not the place. All that crap about other gods sharing the same birthday, being resurrected and having 12 disciples is completely inaccurate. There are excellent peer-reviewed books on the subject and many great videos from atheist scholars that take the bible apart piece by piece.

Have you read some of the sources and researched them? As someone that takes this subject quite seriously I am literally offended by what they put out.

Zeitgeist falsely claims that Jesus is mere ‘myth’ and not the Savior of the world

That's a stupid argument, how can you say that's false when there's no evidence whatsoever that it's true?

It's sad that so many humans in the 21st century are still so inhuman- full of ignorance, stubborness, hate and no capacity whatsoever for objectivity.

Zeitgeist is an incredible movie and I see nothing wrong in it. How can someone say with a straight face that Christianity doesn't have astrological elements in it as well as Egyptian and Pagan religious symbols and themes? I heard a Catholic Priest say that Easter is named after Ishtar. Wake up people!
