"Ashley Madison Hack Is The Best Thing To Happen Since Moses"

"Husbands and wives across the world are waking up to their partners' extramarital affairs after, as AP calls it, a catastrophic leak at adultery website Ashley Madison spewed electronic evidence of infidelity across the Internet. Online forums were buzzing Thursday with users claiming to have found evidence that their significant others were on the site. But it's not all doom and gloom... as Reuters notes many professions stand to benefit from the unfolding saga, from lawyers to therapists to cyber security firms. Prominent divorce lawyer Raoul Felder said the release is the best thing to happen to his profession since the seventh Commandment forbade adultery in the Bible, "I've never had anything like this before."

As AP explains,

"Ashley Madison marketed itself as the premier venue for cheating spouses before data stolen by hackers started spreading across the Internet earlier this week. The prospect of finding the name of a loved one or an acquaintance amid the site's more than 35 million registered members has drawn strong interest worldwide.

Websites devoted to checking emails against the leaked data appeared to be experiencing heavy traffic. Forums such as Reddit — the user-powered news and discussion site — carried stories of anguished husbands and wives confronting their partners after finding their data among the massive dump of information."

I think it is hilarious.
People that cheat play with other people's hearts and ruin families.
They reap what they sow.

I'm of the opinion that husbands and wives have a right to know, but also if you pay for security and instead find your data revealed there is a huge problem. This is sad, but people cheat it happens all the time it can almost be expected in today's marriages, if cheating is the deal breaker for you then you should not get married. Anyway it's both a good and bad thing that the data is reveled.

It's hilarious until you realize the emotional collateral damage. Families are being torn apart. The pain from this that's being inflicted on innocents is going to echo for years.

It's sad that not only people felt the need to find extra-marital "excitement", but that we also spread it on the net for our own pleasure.

It's bad enough that families will be broken because of this, but it's even worse that it's out there for the whole world to see.

Just goes to show what sort of people we have become.

I never understood the concept of wanting to get married, then cheating.

Then again my marriage lasted only 4 years!
But we didn't cheat on each other before we split.

Can someone explain why people do this?

Is it the rush of getting caught, being stuck in the loveless doldrums, keeping together for the kids, ego trip, sex addiction(seriously who isn't)?
If I felt that way I would just be honest with my partner and swing.

Just seems like a horrible thing to do to someone you loved at some time.

So you're saying nevermind matrimony, nevermind marraige, because one spouse will inadvertedly violate their oath to the other. My goodness..I'm not quite sure I can process your comment.. that sounds like terrible disullusionment. I suppose your next comment would include forfeiting the notion of children and family.

Along with my two youngest children, I am a victim of a serial cheater.
She did it to three guys since I threw her out of my life.
Her latest scandal pulled our 12 year old daughter into the mess.
My daughter left it slip around the boyfriend that is taking her mother on a cruise to St. Thomas next month that the other boyfriend had them all at an amusement park two days before.
The first boyfriend called her and asked about it. He had his phone on speaker with my daughter present without her mother knowing it.
She called our daughter a liar and my daughter heard it. My daughter was, of course, devastated. She and her brother haven't seen her since (10 days ago), because they don't want to see her.
She was down to having them two days a week as it was, now she is down to the point where they don't want her in their life at all.
So I am aware of the toll.... and I think it is hilarious that the A-holes that do this are being called out.
I wish it had happened sooner... I am pretty sure that she would have an account there... it would have saved me some heartache.

I think a lot of it is people just simply fall out of love. I was in one marriage for about 8 years where it would work and not work and work...back and forth. Eventually we got a divorce. I know after that I swore id never get married again and she wasn't a bad person either...I just think marriage is silly.

My first 2 serious relationships I was cheated on. After that I never took a relationship serious. I have even cheated on a girl I once dated for 2 years and we split up shortly after. I just don't care anymore. Relationships are a waste of time....id rather have good friends and my hobbies at this point.

And for those applauding the exposure...Think of every interaction you have...even a little flirting on facebook...no cheating but just some flirting. Imagine that getting out...what your significant other think?

Bottom line is...being single is the way to go unless you really really want to have a family with kids.

Perhaps they enjoy the Power of Deception, having put one over on someone..Otherwise they might enjoy feeling like a "player," I believe that is the term that is used for these personality types.

Well I'm cynical and have been burnt just as other posters here. My opinion is one meant to protect and look at things honestly, I'm not saying don't get married. I am saying out of the years of being married and growing together especially if things get rocky people cheat. It's not good and it's not ok it's painful to all involved but to deny this or say it can't happen to me will only hurt more. That's my position on the matter in sorry my put that lump in your throat, also let me say this if you are worried about her cheating she probably is, only you know what you got and typically those concerns may seem out of the blue, when in reality behavior patterns change and you notice.

I wouldn't dare be naive enough in today's world to put up with a marriage contract. It's slavery for both parties. A generation ago okay it made more sense, but the cultural shifts means societies game has changed. Only young people I see getting married are suckers destined for heartbreak and ruin.

This leak pushes the trend further along hopefully. Less people will see value worthy of the associated risks of marriage.

When you deduct children, the asexual, the people without Internet, the celibate and those who struggle to "perform" it's actually much higher.

Then add the people who cheat who don't use Ashley Madison... It rises again.

That's a lot of heartbreak.

You better check again because a lot of the email addresses on file are from .uk domains, with lots being official government email addresses from members of parliament.

Unfortunately, that was "Worldwide" subscribers. They haven't told us how many were from the USA. I would kind of like to know that number myself.

You can't practice law in the US with an L.L.M.... It's a master of law, not a Juris Doctorate..

You can, in parts of Europe.

Lol.

But, point taken regarding twisted sexuality on the part of many Americans due to religion and puritanical elements.
