Motorcycle Bomb rocks central Bangkok

There has been a large explosion close to a shrine in the centre of the Thai capital, Bangkok.

The BBC's Jonathan Head, who is at the scene, says there appear to be both dead and injured, amid a huge amount of chaos.

He says there is a massive amount of damage and a crater that indicates this could be a bomb.

Our correspondent says that if it is a bomb, this would be a rare attack for the capital.

3 explosions this week, Tianjin, Texas and now Bangkok. Yikes!

BBC are reporting it as a bomb.

Seeing as a shrine its seems to be a religious attack. Who wants to guess what religions behind it?

So the idea behind that site is atmospheric methane gas is causing these explosions?? I just skimmed it but, wtaf??? I will read more of the site later..

Mostly hydrogen sulfide as it is lighter-than-air and will accumulate and plume at the surface and cause explosions when it chemically reacts with certain chemicals and ignition sources. It is a very flammable gas and it is escaping into the atmosphere from many different sources.

Yea it's gotta be global warming, when you goto sleep at night do you check under your bed and in the closet making sure global warming isn't there. If there is a explosion these days, use logic it's likely to be a jihadi. Jeez

If it is who we're alluding to that did it, they're making an awful lot of enemies. Namely, the world. So why are they still at it? What I mean is, surely there are enough resources worldwide to put a stop to 'em?

The Erawan is an enormously popular shrine to the Hindu god Brahma but is visited by thousands of Buddhist devotees every day.
