also it seems there is a report/complaint function called "Alert" which i have gladly used due to you bringing up a moral issue and encouraging the debate that followed in a general chat thread, going as far as negatively addressing me

Whether the staff will actually care or not is beyond my knowledge but i did what i felt was necessary

Go to the debate forum, i think you will find it better suits your tastes

Yep, 'I think' is a confirmation. I think that defanging snakes to own as pets is barbaric. That is also a confirmation about where I stand.

Furthermore, calling a decision i make, or have yet to make, as barbaric is ergo calling me myself barbaric unless specifically stated otherwise to clear confusion for readers.

The spider that i killed had caught me by surprise and i was startled. In the heat of the moment i crushed it.

However the other day i saved a spiders life, even took a philosophical outlook on its struggle as watching it caught me contemplating life itself

Redeem myself from what? Posting on a forum that I think killing things needlessly is not cool, and that defanging snakes is certainly not cool, barbaric in fact.

Oh for goodness sake, if we were having a general chat in the pub about pets and you told me you thought defanging a snake was the best way forward for you I would say exactly the same.
A conversation is a fluid thing, there is no rule that members cannot share their opinion about a comment raised in conversation.
That is simply a human trait.

Just been reminded that there is a 'debate' forum after all, never noticed it before so thanks for the shout.
Not very busy though from first glance, I shall have a look through, but it seems to be pretty dead, and not at all in the style of natural discussion as enjoyed in this thread and elsewhere on ATS.
