www.skynews.com.au...
A rush to go digital with the process of registering deaths has made
it simple for maliciously minded folks to have someone who is alive
declared dead by authorities.
This is a global problem,' Australian computer security specialist
Chris Rock said as he launched a presentation titled I Will Kill You.

The process of having someone officially stamped dead by getting
a death certificate issued typically involves a doctor filling out one
form and a funeral home filling out another, Rock's research found.

Once forms are submitted online, certificates declaring the listed
person legally dead are generated.someone, you can actually birth
someone,'

Hackers can turn the living dead

Remember when they said
"computers will make life easier" .

Another whole new growth industry
no doubt run from Ghana ....

Chris Rock? I didn't know he was into this kind of stuff.

Sounds like something we could have a little fun with. Lets hope no one decides to overload the system with death certificates. That could become a real mess.

The birth certificates are far more concerning than the death certificates. With a death certificate, the most you can do is inconvenience someone for a while until they prove they're not dead. A cheap prank at best. Whereas with fake birth certificates you can forge a whole new identity at the click of a button... Not just once but as any times as you want... You could have an army of fake yous out there legally registered as a citizen in the system... That is far more scary.

Of course it's nothing new to be able to buy death certificates, etc., but separately. But how it's coming to a head is a futuristic black market identity style. Doubt most interested are going to want a want a clean identity with no credit, for example.

Wait... being considered legally dead... no income taxes ever again plus the ability to truly disappear into the background? Mr. Chris Rock, you titled your presentation "I Will Kill You" and I say DO IT!

Wow, that kind of power can make people very rich over night.
Create a new identity, purchase a premium life insurance package, kill the person off and leave another fake named person as the beneficiary.
Or make a whole bunch of fake identities with bank accounts at different banks across town, (providing you live in a big city) and collect welfare.

A buddy and I were talking about ways a malicious person could ruin somebody's life just by using a computer. This was years back. Anyway, this was in the top 10 on the list we came up with. It would be a real pain trying to prove that you're still alive.
