Gangs aren't paid to "serve and protect". Your argument plays into the narrative you seem to oppose.

you'd think people tasked with keeping the peace would be a little more careful to avoid disturbing it, i guess everyone needs to score some points.

There are good teachers and bad teachers. There are good doctors and bad doctors. There are good McDonalds window clerks and there are not.

To take a group of people and declare them all bad is the basic definition of prejudice.

Gangs? I have met bad cops and paid for it and have also relatives in Law enforcement where some are good and some are shady but they are not a gang. This is the media image that is pumped into your head. With words and quick clips of violence.

In a nutshell, explain what is truly wrong and offensive to have a Darren Wilson Day? Do I think it was a great PR move, well, yes and no. Who is affected by this? MB's parents? Please, they are so sad that their son choose a path that got himself killed. Every parent tries but sometimes there is no helping a child hell bent on a poor lifestyle of decisions.

Again, what is truly wrong with celebrating a day where an accused officer was found to not be charged by local gov't or the DOJ after basically being 'falsely accused' of his actions? The don't think Holder would have held back if something was found.

They want to have a Darren Wilson Day, fine, but don't make on the anniversary of Mike Brown's death. That's beyond asinine. How about the date of acquittal? This was intentional. And it looks like it got the desired effect.

This is really stupid on so many levels.

If you are a police officer or in charge in Ferguson in any capacity, you want to de-escalate the situation, get your community involved in policing itself and crime reduction. You also need some good PR for the police department.

Policing a community is only effective when you have some community help, involvement or buy in. That's leadership 101.

Making it harder for the police to do their job, making it more dangerous for the police and making it harder for the community and police to work together is probably the stupidest thing I've seen all week.

This country has a problem with racism. What this police department did was inflame it. And if they didn't see the possobe consequences of their action, if they saw nothing wrong with doing this on the anniversary of a death, rightful or wrongful, that caused a very large debate to begin, they should be flipping burgers, not armed and policing our streets

Why is it so bad to have a Darren Wilson day? His life has been thoroughly ruined, his image slandered and his and hisfamilies lives threatened because he defended himself against a violent criminal and got his name dragged through the mud by zealous, mindless social justice zombies just like you. He will probably be in hiding the rest of his life. All because some gangbanger was to broke to buy swishers for his weed.

Ignoring my opinion on the subject, Wilson. Simply, It's called "fanning the flames".

Common sense should be that LE should not be in the business of amplifying tensions that puts property or lives at risk in order to praise worship on one of its members whom has long since been compensated. It makes it appear as if their attempting to incite more violence perhaps so they can collect more overtime.
