A blast has been heard near the interior ministry in the centre of the Saudi capital, Riyadh, witnesses say.
Details are still sketchy but some reports suggest the explosion was triggered by a car bomb.
The blast comes a day after Saudi security forces killed a suspected militant and a civilian during a shoot-out in the capital.
Security forces in the oil-rich state have been waging a campaign against Islamic militants since May 2003.
More soon.
