Not sure what the issue is here, I have been responsible for making sure that the choices my family who have left before me had their wishes granted.

It has for as far as I've know been something that families do discuss openly with a clear plan on who the individual's MPO (medical Power of Attorney) is who will follow the orders to the best of their ability to do so.

Some people are living in fear that if they write out an order for their wishes that it signs a death warrant, this couldn't be any further from the truth. It simply clarifies and puts into writing what the person chooses for their end life care and quality of life in end time scenarios.

The choice is an individual one from last breath to planning their cremation verses funeral and that can be a mess I can assure you if it is not clearly stated by the individual prior to their death.

It is a no issue but people can be idiots and the lines of honor and dignity as well as legalities have to be weighed in.

Dying intestate is one thing, dying with dignity and honor another but they both call emotions among family and friends that in time would not be so explosive and opinionated if the individual has a plan to follow in writing.

One tip for good measure: invest in Long term care...

There is still an issue, I put it in my post to manbehindthemask. A backup isn't a bad idea. If you trust your primary care doctor, they should know too. When you are taken to the hospital, in what may be your last ride, sometimes your paperwork can't be found, the POA can't be found. Or there is a POA and a MOA or it hasn;t been made clear.

That is not just funny, but true. Mom was always right about that. In my case, it was clean, but ..female...stains hadn't come out in the wash. I was in a hurry to find a place to get a haircut open on a Sunday and grabbed without looking from my drawer....I had an ischemic stroke linked to my complicated migraine syndrome- on the way-pulled into a gas station lot, was able to walk inside but not communicate, anything verbally clear -other than '911'. There was an awkward moment in the hospital after the ambulance ride. I was more upset/embarrassed than the medical professionals. But That brought the memory back.

Sorry Jessie, some of us do have data caps and can't watch your propaganda. Maybe if you could put your thoughts into text like everyone else here at ATS(and respond once and a while too) you might gain a little more respect, not that you care about that sort of thing.

Very few people, in this day and age, have data caps on watching videos on regular internet. If you don't have that, you should use your data in ways that are important to you. He posts videos, just like NLBS. He also notes a website, maybe there is text information there.

Lots of members post videos in threads day in and day out.

Okay so just because us data caps are such a small percentage that we don't count, we are such a small percentage the world shouldn't cater to us, this sounds familiar.

No, I didn't mean that. Of course you count. But you see videos posted by members in many, many threads. Do you complain to them about their 'propoganda'?

i'm sick of seeing his stupid videos.

I completely agree J.V.s off the grid sucks and I personally do not like the guy who sues the Wife of a true Hero over something that was said in a book it's just pathetic he has all these views on how things are going wrong yet he doesn't do squat but when it comes 2 this stuff written about him he then calls out the lawyers J.V. should stand for Junior Varsity because that's how I see him

Many of us enjoy his videos here. Again, I can say, 'go after the ball not the player'. Shall I look into your life and base my replies to your posts or threads on it?

If they don't outline whats in the video, then yes I do. Well not complain, but rather ask the OP for a brief synopsis. I would to the same here but you and I both know the OP would never take the time to respond to anything on ATS.

Oh yeah I'm really prepared.

I got my gold stash in the backyard under the big oak tree. That's going to bubba. I got my money in the mattress, my husband is going to know what to do with that. Yes, all the stuff is at home, hey world, look at my house where the money is, hey local government that does arrests by financial gain equations, look what I have...

Not really. So, it's called a trust attorney or an estate attorney. When someone dies, the attorney knows what to do with whatever. Life insurance, banks, property lists, wills, etc. Even with attorneys, telling and trusting can be risky. Who is going to sue them for a con after you die? What if they bump you off to get what they know you have? So many details.

I've only got a few years at max to go, so I'm always interested in this subject. Last year I had to plan my funeral, because I had just suffered a big brain haemorrhage and my family thought it was game over. I now have a do not resuscitate on my medical notes, I'm happy to die, I think I've accepted it. I certainly don't want to be kept alive, if it means living out my last days as a vegetable in a chair. There is nothing really to fear about death or what happens after. I've watched lots of Alan watts videos on the subject, which I find helpful

I don't want a religious funeral or a cremation . Ideally I would like a burial pod

I would also like to have psilocybin treatment before I die. I have been trying to organise this, but there are no ongoing trials. It doesn't stop death but helps terminally ill people come to terms with their deaths, some great research has been carried out at john Hopkins university. It involves taking a strong dose of hallucinogens that with the right guidance can help people feel more connected to life and helps them understand how life and death are all connected. I urge people to have a look at the work done on this subject as it's fascinating.

I am British, so I cannot comment on the specifics of the system there with over much confidence. I do know that I have no money, and no realistic expectation of ever owning much in terms of monetary value. All I want is to die in a sword fight, and be to be cremated out doors on a bed of herbs and firewood with my family around me.

Hell, I do not even care if there is a death certificate. No fuss please.

Their tone was obviously combative and meant to get a negative reaction.

If you can't watch it, maybe ask nice so that someone might transcribe it, but don't be a jerk about it. Getting tons of passive aggressive vibes from those posts.

This is most definitely an individual right. Deciding when and how you die is one of the most intimate choices you can make for yourself.

Personally I do not read or click on your stuff.
If you sign up here, then, have one of your flunky’s do all the posting under your name......really areyou that busy that you never reply to any threads created by “you”?? You sure can post them..then again it really is not you now is it....
It seems you are only here to promote your site and I find that distasteful and disrespectful of everyone here.
Regardless of the quality of the info that may be on your site. That is the reason I never go there.
