I guess if your minded is clouded with daft conspiracies, everything looks like a daft conspiracy.

Back on topic, it's great to see computing being taught to children at an early stage. Software engineering is the cornerstone of our society so this will really help to get kids in on the ground floor.

That doesn't mean that the out-the-box Pi has any tracking device (it doesn't).

One of my first experiences with computers was on the BBC micro in the 80's, with the endless disk (5.45") swapping when copying disks, Arcadians, Chuckie Egg......ah it was the good old days of computing, everyone who was anyone learned basic programming on those. I had previously owned an Atari 800XL, which had better games, but was nowhere near as versatile.

You and many other people, who aside from playing "Elite", used the countless thousands deployed in schools to enable future information technology related careers.

If you look at the amount of Intellectual exports leaving the UK in terms of software it is in dire straits....maybe something like this can spawn a new generation of "Codemasters".
