No I prefer the memoirs and reports of the people actually there and on the ground. David kilcullen just released his quarterly essay on the Islamic state, it's in audio book format for $10 bucks mine just finished downloading while I typed this, I suspect it will be full of good researched information.

Jamie smiths memoir "Gray work" is also in audio book format, it's $25 but it's got all kinds of insites into Libya and blackwater and Iraq and many other fun hot button issues, tho he's a super Christian God warrior with a bit of a bloated outlook on himself(he's been through some shiiit tho so maybe it's deserved?) he's peddling some good info.

I misspoke it's not his quarterly essay it's some Australian reporter something but number 58 was by him and it just came out. So far he's dead on(5min in out of 3 hours)

Really you know this whole story is fake don't you?? Created by a blog post and picked up by Iran news agency. In fact they even claimed snowden released documents proving the connection. The whole thing originated because the CIA funded the insurgents in Afghanistan against Russia. Some of these people later became al qaeda. And people falsely believe al qaeda became isis. You need to dig a little deeper to get to the roots . CIA is only a branch of the roots that have many grafted branches . Consider secular political Zionism as the roots and imagine yourself climbing up the tree . He has massive popularity in Russia is because put in controls the media. And media can sway opinions. In fact I bet many don't know this but he is known as batyushka, the holy father. Yes there is Putin worship going on in Western countries this is a foreign concept. No politician gains this type of reverance. But along those lines it's not all Russians the polling numbers are skewed because with this kind of worship it's dangerous to say otherwise.

Outside of Russia Putins popularity and his power has all but disappeared. Putin could have been a world leader instead he's chosen a different path. Shame to with the rise of radical Islam everyone needs to work together. Now he's alone and he's going to learn in areas like chechnya what that really means. He doesn't realize all those radicals fighting in Syria will return home.

Really well I'm part Russian and have made several trips there to visit family. So just a guess but I think understand Russians better then you do. You can't deny there is a lot of support ball park about 70 percent trust him. Again a lot to do with what they are being told. And by the way Russians don't live in a bog. It's a very beautiful country if you take the time to visit.

What'd happening in Russia is czar I similar to germany. The people are enamored with Put in much like Hitler. Hitler had to sign autographs and make public appearances. It's the same with Putin on tv they let you know what he's done for the day. People sell memorabilia check the airport on moscow. So you can but your putin mug or shirt. Of he wears something on RT everyone will buy one.
