TV Land Pulls 'Dukes of Hazzard' Reruns

All right, this is getting ridiculous.

How long will this go on? Until things cool over a bit, or are we in a new age of self censorship?

And that's exactly what it is, self-censorship. Why do we need the government to censor anything, when we can socially stigmatize and pressure people to self-censor themselves, whether individually or as a corporate entity?

And for those conspiracy minded folks, maybe that's the *new* strategy for *their* agenda?

The debate over the Confederate flag continues to spread to the entertainment world.

A week after Warner Bros. announced it would no longer sanction the manufacturing of "Dukes of Hazzard" merchandise featuring the flag, TV Land announced it's pulling reruns of the 1980s’ TV series featuring John Schneider and Tom Wopat as Bo and Luke Duke in fictional Hazzard County, Georgia.

In a statement to ABC News, the network confirmed Wednesday that the show had been "removed" from its schedule, while declining to comment further.

No, I don't think that a government building should fly the confederate battle flag, and yes, I do think that a private corporation has the right to sell or show whatever it chooses (within reason), and this is obviously a corporate decision based upon the recent uproar and controversy, but this is just getting completely silly, IMO.

It's hard to believe so many Americans could be so gullible to go along with this super large pile of PC excrement. I suppose it all has to do with money too. If corporations, news media and people in general got this upset (as the Confederate flag topic) over the politicians lies and corruption, government over-reaching, tens of thousands of retarded laws, detrimental social engineering, the casino called wall street and the Ponzi scam known as central banking, I expect there would be politicians and bankers swinging from trees and lamp posts. The intolerant and well used (by the PTB) vacuous politically correct and rabid liberal units really need to get over themselves.

It's just a flag FFS's sake! We ALL have much bigger problems and should be concentrating on what binds us together, not what divides us. Remember, divided we fall.
