If a person says its wrong for someone to believe in something other that what they believe, and then "say it" its a crime??

I see where this is heading and not in a good direction. Thought crimes. just wow! Obviously gay people thinkg the opposite...so if they say it, does it make it a crime for them as well? Or is this some one sided debate?

Did you read the article? It is not a crime to say homosexuality is wrong. It's just being seen as one indication out of many to identify if others are into violent extremism like isis. It's not as if a person says "homosexuality is wrong" then they are automatically a suspect.

The Department for Education has issued schools with new guidance to help identify pupils at risk of radicalisation. Mrs Morgan said this would include “changes in behaviour” and “things that they say”.

Pressed on whether if a child said they believed homosexuality was “evil” or “wrong” that teachers might consider them a “danger”, she replied: “It could trigger a thought, it would depend very much on the context in which that was being discussed.

What will happen to the children that are religious and say homosexuality is wrong?

How will their lives be changed by this?

Would it surprise you to know that in some countries it is a crime?

Coming soon to a once great nation near you courtesy of the secular progressives!

Thanks, guys!

More then likely ridiculed for their religious beliefs, unfortunately.

I'm agnostic that dabbles in atheism, but I understand the concept of religion and what it's original intent was/is. How it's morphed over the last 2k years to elevate others through fear and oppression I absolutely disagree with, however, as long as their religious beliefs do not impact others, then they should have every religious freedom afforded to them.

The same should hold true that are not of the religious variety. When their freedoms impact others religious freedoms, I think there is a constitutional flaw here.

The whole marriage thing, however, I'm nearly glad it was fought and won. I'm worried how this will impact religious institutions going forward as I suspect it will force religious institutions to things against their religious beliefs. I don't think marriage is one of them, but where the marriage is performed could absolutely be.

I guess since they are having a hard time taking free speech from adults then they may as well take it from the kids. Take it while they are young so they will be easier to control later. Sick bastards.

You nailed it on the head. It's the easiest way for complete control. It's already been happening for decades and you can see it with these younger generations, they simply don't care about freedoms that we cherish. Once it's gone, then they'll realize and it's too late.

This seems familiar... Oh, this is what when Bible warns us of. But it's happens before. Many people have praised God from behind bars. Stay strong.

I'm not surprised. In some countries being gay and having a gay marriage is a crime. Not all countries support Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Religion. Some people want to force their religious views on others, like on gay people for example.

To be identified as a terrorist the likes of ISIS...they will most certainly come after you, and to me...that is listing you as a criminal.

The fascination with sodomy half way through the thread, funnily enough, came (pun intended) from the very people you'd expect to whip out (pun intended) a cross and bottle of holy water at the mere thought of the word...

I want to embed the Peter Griffin song, but I don't know if it's T&C friendly.

See, in my initial response, I might be seen as a gay basher (pun intended)...
But I'd like to point out my views come from a grey area of the debate...
That is to say that I don't think the government should be labelling children for re education camp (pun intended)...

In thought or in practice.

Enough puns.

I appreciate Gryphon's wisdom, as always, in highlighting what it means for us in the UK right now...
Again, my initial response is one of disdain for anything government sanctioned that could lead elsewhere...
I don't trust our Gov in the slightest.
On a myriad of subjects my response would have been identical, I was not intending to sound homophobic.

Sodomy.

You are free to have bigoted religious beliefs against homosexuals. The article is about radical groups who do not care about The Law/Constitution but wish to force their religious beliefs on others (like isis).

Substitute the above for about half the comments in this thread and you get the gist of what is basically homophobic smoke and mirrors disguised as child welfare.

I couldn't find the clip, but I distinctly recall seeing a legitimate military drill that was caught on video of school children at a Christian school being rounded up. It was on one of Alex Jones' documentaries. I assume it was in Texas. He has been publishing on all of this for a decade or more, I just noticed he posted a video a week ago and he is basically #ting his pants talking about how everything is about to collapse in America, particularly Texas. It does seem apparent that Christians and certain regions will be targeted more heavily.

Why is fervent racism & homophobia seen as a "distraction" nowadays?

I actually think all you TPP activists are trying to distract society from the Civil Rights movement.
Because none of you make threads about it...

You bring it up in threads about Civil Rights...

Plain as day, look-over-there-fallacy.

How has NS worked out so far?
Seems like a lot of stupid people still exist, some even believe, they outbreed the rest...

So, true. It's crazy how some people try to pretend to be the victim.

Standing up for equality against oppression, racism, and homophobia is somehow a "distraction" from real problems.

Pointing out intolerant beliefs that harm others is somehow "intolerant".

Letting gay marriage exist for those who do not hold anti-gay religious beliefs is somehow "violating Freedom of Religion".

Not letting one person's religion be a part of public schools or the government is somehow "religious persecution", even though the point of those laws is so that another religion won't try to force them into their's, neither.
