It was a clever little trick. Brainwash the idle masses into laughing at reports of black helicopters. Then send black helicopters out on training runs, using dissidents as a convenient target. Two birds with one stone. The dissidents get laughed at randomly which is intended to dent their self esteem. This doesn't always work because dissidents often lost their self esteem somewhere along the way. Second use. Training. Some of us are happy to have assisted in the training. We might need the black helicopter lads one day.

Here's a few examples from the golden age of black helicopter harassment.

Arranged a journey using phone and internet. Set off. Black helicopter appears left, right, behind, ahead, all the way to the destination. Except I overshot the turning. Stopped in a convenient pub car park and turned around. Almost immediately black helicopter appears, swooping over the road looking desperately for us. I can sense the urgency as they look for us then the relief as they see us. Real world training. We did something unexpected and they had to catch us up quick to get full brownie points.

Arrive at destination. Innocent business owner, working from home, says "Did you see that helicopter? I've lived here for ten years and I've never seen a helicopter so low! It was right over the house!" No comment.

Do business. Set off home. Black helicopter shadows us all the way home.

Another example. Arrange journey on phone. Distinctive vehicle, easy to identify from a distance. Not too obvious shadowing up the motorway. Turn off onto main road. A short distance off motorway pass under bridge and scenery opens out before us. I've always been good at seeing small details in the distance. Far away there's a wooded hill. Black helicopter is hovering just above and behind the hill. As we come into view, it drops down behind the trees. They must have some awesome optics to have seen us and quick reactions to drop out of sight as soon as they confirmed our identity. But I saw you lads. You were good, but not quite good enough.

Other times just a bit of shadowing and flying around the vicinity of the house. Get told "Don't be against them. Some of the crews may actually approve of what you're doing. Defenders of free speech and all that".

After that start waving, smiling and giving thumbs up. Sense may have become an obsolete target. Go for rare walk in local quiet area for private talk. Black helicopter appears and hovers over us and to one side. Odd, but know local guy has little black helicopter so don't jump to conclusions. Still. Odd coincidence.

Getting a bit keystone cops now. Black helicopter follows wife to supermarket. Hovers over car park while shopping. Then follows her home. Have a bit of a laugh over this. Wife is tough as old boots and isn't the slightest intimidated.

Then notice occasionally what looks like same type of helicopter but different colours.

Finally, one September 11th, little blue helicopter flies straight to house. Turns neatly. Flies back the way it came.

Since then nothing that doesn't have a fairly obvious answer.

Happy to have assisted in training and you didn't get close enough to get a bike chain in the rotors so everyone's a winner.

With the UK security services always being overstretched, one has to wonder why they would waste resources on tailing you around.

You sound like another member, from years ago, who swore blind he was being "gang stalked" by Police and MI5, how they'd always try to ruin his day, how they bug his phone and torment him when out on the streets for no apparent reason other than to destroy his life... The general consensus around ATS was that he had some personal issues to resolve...

Huh. You'd think British security services would know there are easier, and better, ways of surveilling somebody than flying a helicopter a few feet over their car and then hovering right over a parking lot while they pick up stuff for sandwiches.

But they still do it, right.

Hovering over a grocery car park seems a wee bit over the top.
