Goodbye ATS but not forever

I just wanted to say bye (at least for a little while anyway) I am going to be taking a break from ATS for a while. I have to forget about all the despair and depression this place brings with it sometimes. You can get burnt out on doom porn and it can stress you out and affect your health and life in general.

So every so often I abandon this place and just go live life and forget about all the evil villains and their agendas. Their is a whole big world out there and I know some of you could use a break as well. So get out there and live life, see the world and try to change someone's opinion in the REAL world instead of here online where we are all so courageous and bold with our words for lack of real world consequences.

Peace ATS, have fun debating and hating one another.

The doom will continue with or without you, so no need to participate in the conversation of it. You cannot stop it.

I have food in the fridge that has been there longer than you have here and it's still good(maybe a little limp in terms of the cerery but it will be ok if I chop some bits off the end)

Persevere my friend, at least give it six months!

After some very hateful responses last year that may have blurred with where i live i had to take a step away also, but the world needs as many voices as possible to destroy the myths and the untruths.

Exactly! Take a break if you MUST, but make it a short one and don't give in to the darkness. You have lots of friends here.

See, I always look at this site as entertainment and don't take anything said even remotely seriously, because most of it is nonsense, hyperbole, and rhetoric. Though I can see how someone such as yourself would be more personally offended by the remarks said on the website. People generally aren't as disparaging against agnostics or atheists as they are against transgenders.

You'll always have a friend in me though.

Like a shooting star, you seem to have burned out quite quickly. I hope this thread gives you all the attention you are looking for.

I don't know what the details of what is causing you to take your sabbatical from ATS, but if you are 'trying to change someone's opinion' then you are going to get a backlash. Try sharing your opinion and making a logical argument without calling someone else names or insulting them.

I can tell you that when someone wants me 'to change my opinion' I will be offended and dig in even more. I hate thought police and I bet you will find a lot of people on ATS that don't like the PC culture.

Bottom line? Do you and let others do them.

For the amount of time you've been here, I'd imagine two or three days ought be cleansing enough, eh?

I've been here a long time and I understand what your talking about. I mean, it's a little soon for you though lol but just take a little break. It's only a website.

The doom porn garbage gets old fast, especially when you have been through almost 10 years of the lamest wildest claims that never happen. It took me a little bit to just click away from a thread that has the same old circular arguments. You'll find some great links from some of the smarter people here though.
