So a mod closes a thread and doesn't link the existing one.

I saw a thread on the new topics list which caught my attention. THEN, a mod sweeps in and closes the thread saying "please add to existing thread" but doesn't link it?

Wtf is that? I've searched and can't find said existing thread...

The topic was IS destroying a world heritage in Syria btw.
