Wow...this started out interesting then devolved into a bunch of random ideas all clashing into each other. The detachment in this thread is shocking.

Temudjin you come off as "off on your high horse" somewheres cause maybe this stuff is all new to you? People isolate using social conventions, or not, and chose to really connect to other humans or whatever aspect of life calls to them. The choice is always there if they have the balls to just do it.

It isn't high faluting mumbo-jumbo enlightened crap. It just "IS".
You are choosing to do it or you aren't.

Being engaged has no correlation to being enlightened. In fact that word is a catch-all trap.
Life isn't a competition with definitions.
You are simply living it fully or not.

If you are living it as fully as you can all the weird stuff is right up in your face whether you anticipated it or not. Just cause you can "touch the weird" at that point is neither special or unexpected. It's indicative of you engaging in life.
Just maybe a little more of "life" than you expected.

Another "trap" is the idea because we can do this is that someone who is, is some kind of shaman or druid or whatever.
Yeah....NO. Everyone can do this, it isn't special, again, it "just is".

Just another layer of life you discover if you are DOING and not sitting on the sidelines speculating about it.
.....and.....so what? It's no big deal.

Not everyone choses to engage on these levels and that is their choice. No harm, no foul. They have the right to proceed on their own paths in their own way. WE however do not have the right to be condescending about their choices.

In your posts I've noticed you chose to speak down to people. Not Cool.
People are people. The way to engage them is to find the commonality and work from there. You started to do that in your OP and then totally dropped the ball.

You seem like you have questions or things you truly want to discuss, well.....spit it out and leave the mumbo-jumbo out of it. It's off-putting. To be authentic you can't hide behind it anyways, so what's the point unless you yourself aren't ready to engage in a meaningful way yet?

btw I've read some of your other threads, are you arguing your point of view to clarify it to yourself, or are you just pissed others don't see the world as you do? Maybe you are just seeing things for the first time and need to find your balance with it?

Your Choice Are always based on instincts, no meaning comes from living by instincts just purpose. If I want to discuss? No I wanna hear stories, real life stories, no fairytales about living life to the fullest cause you don't have any meaning. Talking down on people are the same people who thinks, we eat, we #, we die, that's society. All won't fit in a mold, those who doesn't fit should be nurtured, not excluded. The whole light bulb thing is actually a financial issue, which is a bit funny.. CFL and LED lights seem fine though.

I can answer the questions with mostly "yes," but I never feel alone nor do I necessarily feel chosen. No voices either, and all of my thoughts are in images (not a great word for it, but it works).

Tem, in your perception, how do these things align with feeling 'chosen?'

But not war. Not Jihad. It is all outside the boundaries of what mankind can adapt to. Notice the enormous amount of PTSD in our soldiers coming back from fighting fruitless wars. They are wrecked. They are self-medicating, having nightmares, and becoming addicted to drugs and alcohol at times trying to forget the horrors they endured. Their physical bodies have been damaged, they are in pain which exacerbates the problems. Sometimes they are too depressed to actively seek help, and when they do at times, help is not there.

Mankind, most of us, are trying our damndest to enter into it's natural position of evolving into a higher, better, more peaceful species. Not to be taken back into times of living like animals who have no conscious, such as ISIS. Those who want to destroy the planet and it's life because they are unable to find a niche for their crazy misguided brainwashed asses.

I don't know what you are promoting but it sure as hell ain't peace and love, and it's definitely not good mental health.

Use basic instincts and then indoctrinate a whole generation for a purpose. Our primary instincts are what chains us, there is no living life to the fullest cause it's to short, there is only love or fear. Enjoy a day doing nothing, maybe two. What someone else teaches you must do the most cause it's to short. If you are hungry you eat, if you are tired you sleep that is life. When humans try to have a meaning beyond, it's cause of fear.

Fear drives you, it will always drive you, cause you live by the simple rule, life is to short.

I think its more a case of, many are called, few are chosen, and has to do with people questioning, and with free will, choosing to wake up, wanting to help those around them, to uncover and improve blocks in themselves, or problem areas and grow up more. People who care and question and send up SOS's under the stars, and blame self, not just transfer blame to others, even when they weren't primarily at fault, just feel they could have handled it better and that they probably let that person down instead of uplifting them, these kind of people, get "chosen" for lack of a better word.

Its like being a student in school, who goes beyond the course material and studies up on the subject in their own time and asks the teacher questions, and they get more answers.

But all are called. Its the work everyone is supposed to be doing.

Study philosophy, you are speaking of existentialism.

Kierkegaard, a religious philosopher, Nietzsche, an anti-Christian, Sartre, an atheist, and Camus an atheist, are credited for their works and writings about existentialism. Read them if you want to learn.

By the way, as a philosophy it's very passé. Early 20th century. We are in the 21st century now. Things have changed.

The meaning of philosophy is how a society should operate that is why philosophy and religion go hand in hand, Nietzsche questioned the structure of society mostly in his work Zarathustra, same abide the structural ethics and morals of the Ten Commandments, or in Buddhism you just shorten in to the Ten Commandments and skip the bible.
