Fox News: "Death Plunge: ISIS throws gay men off buildings under guise of Sharia law" (graphic images)

Fox News has decided to post an article about ISIS executing gay men by throwing them off of roof-tops. As a mainstream news outlet, I was shocked to see images of a dead gay man with blood on the pavement, and another image of a gay man falling to his death, blindfolded. I didn't think mainstream news outlets showed such things, as all of the beheading videos made by ISIS were not shown and the still-shots were carefully chosen with no blood or gore.

I will not post the images from the article, but I will post the URL to Fox News website, where you can read and see the images.

Does anyone feel like Fox News is going just a little bit too far with the shock-factor of these images?
What say you, ATS?

As a gay woman, no I don't think it's over board

I think people need to see this, I think it needs to be made public so people can see what is happening and not bury their heads in the sand.

Some thing are hard to watch. But evil needs to be exposed for what it is

These photos are cruel. But not more so than the picture of the man falling from the WTC that was widely shown everywhere, or images of bodies in earthquake rubble that get shown. Sometimes the cruelty of groups like this don't seem real until you see it. The images hit home and serve their purpose. These fanatical groups need to be opposed.

The terror group also recently has employed “flirt squads,” in which militants pose as homosexuals in an attempt to lure gay men out into the open for death by public execution.

After reading that I decided the end justifies the means .

It depends on the objective. But if you're trying to open peoples eyes and have them get upset about what is happening then you have to shock them awake sometimes. We are so apathetic or accustomed to violence now that you almost have to show something shocking before anyone bothers to look up from their Latte anymore to even care. Even then most still won't care or worse will just laugh it off because it doesn't directly effect them.

What else can you do??

The only problem is that it also promotes what ISIS does and their message to the world at the same time.

Then you should probably stop paying taxes. If you live in any western nation you unknowingly contributed to ISIS.

And I do not think that being gay would give anyone some extra compation towards cruelty against life.

All lives matter.

The be fair here, Fox used a "Warning: Extremely Graphic Images" link on the page that the article is posted on. That should be warning enough for anyone not interested in viewing said images.

Also, The images themselves were hardly what I would consider to be graphic. To each his own, I guess.

You are absolutely correct, it needs to be seen.

People in the US have had their head in the sand for far too long
and trying their best to be "understanding" of good muslims.

The people in the US did this
by ignoring the atrocities committed by the Islamic State of Daesh
and ISIS's very evil sycophantic cult followers
who do besmirch the name of good muslims

But in trying to protect the good muslims
the baby has been thrown out with the bathwater.
The mainstream media and their sycophants
ignored the horrific and murderous treatment of homosexuals
and the horrific and extremely repressive
and barbaric treatment of women and little girls

It is about time someone showed the world what is
happening and tried to pull politically correct
noses out of the sand
and forced them to face the ugly reality
so that they become as incensed over
the systematic murder of homosexuals
by the Islamic State of Daesh, as they do
over a baker who won't bake a cake
in the US.

The hypocrisy needs to end and showing something
like this on TV may wake people up to real
injustice and real homophobia so that their
energies are refocused on helping their
brothers and sisters who are being systematically
murdered for being homosexual;
instead of focusing their energies on hunting
down a Pizza parlor owner and goading them
into making a bigoted remark.
Priorities people! Priorities!

All lives matter.

But being gay puts me in the position to know that could be me or my significant other they are throwing off a building.

In the same way that a gay person would know about gay persecution or struggles , that a straight person would not

That doesn't mean they can't see it for the evil that it is

Honestly if you can't parse that connection I don't know what to tell you

ISIS are killing whoever they choose to.

No "protected" group needs a soapbox when it comes to ISIS.

This thread isn't about all the other ones is it?

The op is talkin about specific videos that were being shown

Now I'm being lambasted for being on a soap box for being ON TOPIC?

Please

Actually this thread is about whether Fox is going too far...

This could have been any group they were killing the premise is the same.

& I stick by my initial opinion.

If you feel "lambasted" I don't know what to say.

ISIS being funded by the west has nothing to do with my opinion of my home region.

More interesting to me is how ISIS manages to concentrate heavily on the western hot-button issue of gay rights, like that is what ISIS believes is the root evil inside Islam.

Terrorisits these days seem to have this uncontrollable urge to make videos they hope westerners will find offensive so that westerners will ok more defense spending in order to kill terrorists.

If you cannot parse THAT connection...

Interpretation

I'm staying on topic and I have a right to address the op and give my opinion of it

If you're offended about my opinion and feel it's too soapboxy for you, even tho it's in line w the OP

then that says more about you then it does me

But hey continue attacking me that's fine, it bothers me not

Of course Fox went to far!

It's Fox.

Now if it was MSNBC, then it'd be topical and heart-wrenching.

Attacking you?

My friend you're just a digital interaction to me & I have better things to do than attack people online...
Not unless I get bored and troll Westboro on Twitter...

No I just felt it pertinent to advise that there is a time and a place for what you're doing, admirable as it is.

The discussion is are Fox going too far...
I agree with you, I don't think they are...

But the subtopic you're bringing does not need a prophet to know that will drift the thread.
I doubt that's your intention, but I've seen it happen all too often in my 4 years as an ATS follower.

No offence intended.

I can easily see how under a sharia law that will Stone women to death for adultery, sentenced them to death for being raped and punish you if you don't grow a beard .

That the enforcers of that said law wouldn't have much of a problem dropping homosexuals off a roof either .

Media needs to shine a light on this sort of thing...
That's their job.

People can scream fearmongering/propaganda all they want...

But journalism is about exposing world events.

The good, the bad and the ugly.

This is bad and ugly.

As has been said, is just a headline enough nowadays?

With far left liberalism pretty much ignoring it and far right wingers becoming more apathetic to any kind of cruelty that's an unhealthy portion of he population in a carefree state while tyranny reigns.

Good on Fox, for once.
