I doubt the Aboriginals would agree that European settlement complied with there 40 thousand year old law of the land. In fact, I think they'd probably consider it a violent invasion.
We're all immigrants.

Head up to the north west, towns like Fitzroy crossing all even Derby and then you tell me. Its like a 3rd world country up there.
So they once had an entire continent, and now have a small area. Sounds like it did not work out well for them.

America doesn't even have to take in these refugees, but you could use your power and influence to maybe pressure other countries in the region to help out. Instead of all this macho stance of " this is my land find your own" with your proud american chests puffed out. I know your all tough guys over there who despise the weak, but your country has a lot of power that can be used for good. Just a thought.
An understanding of what is going on in the US requires an understanding of the perspective of many US Americans over the age of say....45 years of age, i.e., that US Citizenship is a "birth right" and that therefore the US is "Their" country. There's another odd line of thought operating in the background and that is that one's luck in where they are born determines their prospects in life. So...if you're born in a crap hole third world pit of despair, you live and die in poverty because, after all, you were born in a crap hole third world pit of despair.
What these people don't understand and can't possibly support is that the US and World "Elites", since about 1965, determined that the whole idea of the Nation State and its accompanying "this is my country" thinking had been a major contributing factor to world wars. And they realized that the horrendous income gap and wealth gap between the third world and the first world nations was unsupportable and damaging to human kind as a whole.
What's happening now is that the US Elites are playing out this agenda, openning US Borders to refugees of all types, (economic as well as political) from all parts of the world. Combined with the exportation of high paying US Manufacturing jobs to the third world will ultimately level the income/wealth gap between the third world and the first world such that the whole of humanity will live in nations of second world economic status. What's also known is that as countries move up the economic ladder, birth rates in those countries plummet to at or below replacement level. This will result in a world population number that doesn't over burden the Earth's carrying capacity.
As this agenda progresses, the whole concept of the "Nation State" and "National Sovereignty" goes out the window. But what also changes is that people come to realize that they don't get to pick and choose who their neighbors are, that the jurisdictions they came to believe were "Their Countries" are open to immigration from the whole world and that no one can any longer call any country "their country" because they're going to share their national space with peoples from all over the world.
My "Spiritual Adviser" has pointed out that all of this "My Country", "My Nation", "I get to chose who my neighbors are" is entirely out dated and overlooks the reality of the fact that in the final analysis, none of us own anything; we can't take any of it with us. All that we really have is who we are and that's defined by the extent to which were willing to reach out and help the less fortunate. In the past we've dropped food aid on the starving in the third world so they would stay put and slowly starve to death in their third world crap hole pit of despair. When we do, they over breed which is any species response to a death and dying situation. So sending food aid alone isn't enough. What we need to do going forward is to be willing to share our space and opportunities with the economic refugees from around the world while at the same time trying to elevate the economies of the third world countries by making those economies more sustainable.
And so it goes.....

Since we're all playing games, I guess you mean that as the Native American population of the time did not stop the invading forces, that your current population should also not stop anyone invading?
Or did the Native American people actively state their opposition towards the superior forces who came with modern technology of the time?
If the Native American population did indeed protest, then you have no point.
I am sure, history sides with my opinion.... so nah, not gunna take this "you're immigrants too, so stfu" baloney... and we welcome people of all walks of life in my country here, yet we're still called racist when we refuse to accept illegal immigrants and prefer to identify them rather than let in a whole slew of unknown, potentially dangerous, people.
you can put your rose coloured glasses back on though...

My rules for coming to Australia .
1- 2 years you speak the language or go home .
That goes against freedom of speech.
2- You swear allegiance to Australia , that is over and above your religious beliefs .
Feeble minded patriotism.
3- Learn our national anthem , in English or go home .
I don't even know the national anthem or have any kind of interest in learning it. Its completely irreverent to modern day society.
5 You will not live within 1 kilometres of your old countrymen .
So you want a police state, where there is no freedom of movement?
6 - There is no entry by the backdoor . those caught trying to enter illegally to be banned from ever coming to Australia .
People from 3rd world countries aren't allowed to come here on airplanes. There is no such thing as a front door, its just propaganda the conservative government spits for the simple minded masses, who are incapable of logical thought.

Well if immigrants were coming over here shooting us like animals, stealing our land and forcing us to speak there language and follow there religion, then you would have some kind of point.
But there not doing that. The overwhelming majority are just looking for a peaceful place to live out there lives, with a decent quality of life. I personally think everyone deserves that right.
I don't have a delusional sense of entitlement over others, simply because of where on this rock of ours I was born.
And when they are refused, scream "F*** Australia!!!" from their leaky boats or throw their children over board.

Many in Asia and around the world do not want uneducated, unskilled Muslims, in such large numbers.. If I were a none Muslim country I darn sure wouldn't.
No fear USA is here.
They continue to sow the seeds of making America unrecognizable in probably less than 2 generations... Which for some seems to be the plan.
Unrecognizable from what? A continent of Aztecs, Mayans, Cherokees, Lakota, Pawnee, Choctaw, Iroquois, Seminoles, or Chickasaw? Because those people and hundreds of other indigenous peoples are the actual "North & South Americans". Everyone else is a recent immigrant.
But hey, at least the US is a still "recognizable" in a way. At least they used the names of some tribes for their new States, like the Alibamu tribe, Iowa tribe, Dakota tribe, Otoe-Missouria tribe, Massachusett tribe, Mississippi civilization, Illinois tribe, Kansa tribe, Ute tribe, and Delaware tribe. Is that what you meant?
But many Rohingya are fleeing their homes in western Myanmar after years of violence and discrimination at the hands of the Buddhist
YALA: -- Defence minister believes attacks staged to cause confusion, not serious damage
BOMB attacks continued to erupt in Yala's Muang district yesterday, raising the number of injured people over the past two days to 20.
Despite that, Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan believes the blasts were staged to cause a disturbance and not serious casualties or damage.
"Most of them involved just small bombs," he said.
The attacks started in Muang district at 7pm on Thursday and involved at least 20 separate blasts. Eighteen people were wounded.
Yesterday, there were five more explosions, with two people wounded. Prawit said recordings from closed-circuit cameras at multiple locations showed the bombers quite clearly.
"The Internal Security Operations Command [Isoc] and the National Police Office are working on these cases. We expect to make arrests," he said.
While most of the bombs were not powerful, the one at a Chinese cemetery uprooted three electricity poles.
A bomb disposal team found three more bombs at the spot and defused them.
Colonel Pramote Prom-in, spokesman of the Isoc Region 4's Forward Command, said most of the bomb victims sustained minor injuries. "Only three remain in hospital," he said.
In the wake of the attacks, the Fourth Army Area has ordered all local officials to step up security measures and set up more checkpoints.
"We won't impose curfews. But we are asking for co-operation from locals in giving tips-off," Pramote said.
The chief of the Fourth Army Region General Prakarn Chonlayut said the bombers might have decided to take advantage of security officials needing to focus much attention on the venue where the ongoing Thai Red Cross fair was being staged in Yala.
National police chief General Somyot Poompanmoung said it was unclear if the attacks were related to the recent car bomb at Central Festival mall on Surat Thani's Koh Samui.
Yala is one of the southernmost provinces, which has been struggling with unrest for about a decade.
In nearby Narathiwat, unknown gunmen ambushed rangers yesterday on a local road using M16 assault rifles.
The ambush resulted in a gunfight, which lasted about 10 minutes. After the attackers retreated, four rangers were left wounded. One was shot in the head. "We provide security to teachers," said team leader Sgt-Major Ekapoj Sowanna, who sustained minor injuries.
