Borrowed from a friend...

There is a time where one wakes up in ones life and has a moment of clarity. A realization that what you've been told or led to believe doesn't add up. You begin to realize that the system you grew up in is flawed, rigged, and stacked against you. You start to connect the dots and realize that there is something sinister that is lurking in the background. An unseen hand that is dictating finances, global policies, governments and etc. You research and get caught up in all the various conspiracies. You want to share this with the the world and shout it at the top of your lungs. "Can't you see see the system is rigged! Can't you see the media is a method of control to keep us divided and separate from one another!?" But it falls on deaf ears. And then you feel powerless.

But then something happens. You begin to realize that instead of trying to change the world and those around you. You begin to focus on yourself. You spend your time and effort in becoming the change you want to see. You treat others how you want to be treated. You are loving to yourself and to those around you. Then something incredible occurs. You start seeings what's going right within your world. Your reality. And then you realize that you are the instrument of change. And that by caring for yourself and others you are creating the reality you want to see. You stop focusing on the negativity and focus on what makes you feel good. And by doing so you are creating the world you want by every thought, action and belief. And that is how you change yourself and as a result you are changing the whole. We are the master of our own realities and collectively we are creating the human story that currently exists. Take ownership of your life. Take the power back that resides within you.

This has been my experience and i hope it to be yours.

Cheers my friends! =)

I started this change with this simple guideline...for every bad thought that enters your mind think of two thoughts that are good...after 2 weeks this forms the habit of a better outlook...and then that's when the change occurs...in my case it has brought the love of GOD into my life...things started happening things that are liken to intuitive like happenings...trust these things and do not go down those rabbit holes turn off your TV...live life w/out the fake news...read a little more...get to know mother nature on a daily bases...loving yourself and others...Happy trails...

Truly,

I "woke up" once.

Saw it all.

The System, the Greed, the Corruption and Madness within.

The armies of Neophytes wanting to overthrow the System with no knowledge of how to rebuild afterwards.

I groaned, smashed the damned alarm clock and went right back to sleep.

If anyone comes around and starts offering you red or blue pills, just punch them in the face.

Walk away.
It simply isn't worth it.

I think I can relate to you in some way.

I've been trying to "wake up" for 15 years, and arguably have relative to your average person.

However, the nature of the system is so powerful and corrupt that probably only a radical shift of consciousness in a critical mass of people will actually change the system from the bottom up.

I say this as an international development practitioner who really tried (and still am) to take real action, from poverty work to political work.

But maybe this goes back to the op, that the real change will come from first shifting our consciousness and then living in a way that helps others make the transition.

Yeah, I've been almost trying to, to just be positive about the system, other people, let it all go, etc. It's impossible lol. While I still am extremely positive about the world in general, the universe, many people I know, and so on, I hold that "real" happiness or peace is NOT ignoring negative elements in the world, but instead coming to a centered state of being and shifting one's philosophy of the universe to put it all in its proper place. This is real peace, not just "focusing on the positive."

Having said that, our action should stem from what is right, positive, constructive, loving, leading to connection with others, etc.

Totally agree with that. Best to have a flashlight shining on the path than to stumble along in darkness, trusting to blind luck.

Knowing is better than ignorance, even if a little more painful to the soul.

Its also honorable to share what you have seen with others than to let them remain in the dark and tumble or fall because you didn't enlighten them.

Plato's Cave comes to mind. As much as we enjoy living outside the cave, we should go back and at least try to free others minds.

I had a mentor who told me once that disillusionment is positive, as it means the removal of illusions. However, there is pain in the transition from illusions to truth. At the end of the path, one can come to a new baseline that accounts for the reality that is.

I also agree that we should attempt to wake up others up. Sometimes people do, sometimes people come around later, and some will hate us for it.

"Truth in a time of universal deceit is revolutionary."

I can't remember around what age exactly I woke up and saw the world for what it is. somewhere between 13-16.
I agree the attempt to wake others up is also a critical part of changing our world for the better. The problem is even with facts some people refuse to believe the world is as corrupt as we say.

I hear you.

The worst for me, however, is that a lot of people who want to remain sheeple get head far faster, even in fields where ostensibly one would think philosophically that the more someone knows and understands the more qualified they are. Example, I worked in international affairs (international development, political issues, global poverty, etc). It seemed to me that as another person put it, "you need to be smart but not TOO smart," meaning understanding too much or being too critical. The ones that seemed to get ahead and are now are those who are intelligent enough to go to great colleges, write great papers, know how to do public speaking, network, etc, but also have a kinda standard either Democrat or Republican viewpoint.
