Sorry, but I'm me because I'm me. Just because I like to do masculine things like watch football or go fishing does not mean that deep down inside I am actually a man locked inside a woman's body. It simply means I am a woman who enjoys those activities. By trying to define gender based on the things a person enjoys, you start to label activities as a "female" thing or a "male" thing, and that's crap.

I prefer to be me and I don't worry about my gender. I'm a woman because someday, an archeologist will dig up my skeleton and that's what they'll find - a human female.

And orientation wise, I've never been attracted to anything other than men although I can appreciate attractiveness in other women.

Gender can be reinforced by nurture, or even altered somewhat, but there is an equally large part of it that is nature. And that is as inescapable as the DNA in your cells.

What is the goal of it? if it's helping people accept themselves, I'm not sure this is the best way. I see much more unnecessary confusion in the future if this approach sticks.

That's half of it. The other half is creating understanding (trying to) in others. Or don't you think that matters?

Asking for other children to have issues that are distortions of reality, to share in this, is not needed, in fact it is control over their minds. Having education defined clearly about homosexuality and some variations, in a certain setting, ie family planning, but not spread out all over the educational pallette for classes and assignments, would be more open minded, yet still protect something that is over the heads of these officials and employees, and many posting. The will of the people.

Like I wrote, when a group that is paid for out of tax payer dollars, acts in a dictatorial bullying way, and though it knows its employers would not agree, does not care if there is a massive gulf between their actions and the public will, and wants to enforce this anyway, they need to be replaced because that is sociopathic. Tyranny is sociopathic.

That is the major problem here. This isn't being handled right, its being done in a way to take power over the people, and that would be a battle cry, on behalf of your children, both in terms of brain washing nonsense, and in terms of the freedom you are going to hand them on a silver platter because you are good parents and do not enable fascism and you don't have stockholm syndrome.

The flood of hormones into a youth can create a confusing time, modern society doesn't need to add to the confusion, rather it should at the very minimum encourage them to get through it. Nobody should be bullied because of how they are. Acceptance of all, is not a bad thing, the problem is, it is getting to the point of crossing the line of actually promoting it. Then from there it becomes social propaganda.

If, I had kids in school that were fine before, and then they came home from school all confused, I would have a real issue with the curriculum being taught.

We understand more now - about everything

Some people are afraid of science. They're afraid of knowledge. The reasons for this are obvious. You might see this quest for knowledge as being part of some kind of evil plot. Maybe you think this knowledge is fake - a trick - propaganda. Maybe science is the Devil's plaything?

If you are an honest person you would admit that your life has benefited from this quest for knowledge in a thousand different ways, and that you only have a problem with it when it tells you something you don't want to have to consider

I actually understand that - but it doesn't matter, the way we see the world is constantly changing. What we learn and then what we're willing to consider has begun to make it possible for kids to live their lives as free and happy human beings

Not that you care, but it's hard to imagine how many of our brothers and sisters have been forced to live tortured lives throughout history, or were punished for daring to be true to themselves

Yeah I can understand what you are saying, honestly there are so many different ways to be genderqueer it can get really confusing. I think I am more leaning towards the idea of having the concept of gender non-binary being taught is what I think is wonderful. Granted I do not know what it is like to grow up as child/teen relating to my gender, I feel being able to give others the educating as simply as "not everybody is the same, not everybody is like you" is always a healthy discussion at any age.

I totally understand what you are saying. You can be who you are and do all of that and still identify as a woman, or you can identify as male or something in between. I am not personally labeling hobbies or activites as male or female, but that is how our society labels them.

But I would assume you would be lying to yourself if you saw a "man" in a dress with painted nails and wearing heels and not at least wonder something, it is hardwired in society. You mentioned when archaelogists dig up your bones someday they will see a female skeleton, that is great and you prove my point. When they dig up my bones will they see a male? Yes, but will they see that I didn't identify as a male, or see that you did identify as female? No because our bones and our bodies don't tell the story of what is in our minds.

It's known that everyone goes through a period of confusion during puberty, and you don't think being taught that they may not be a boy or all boy or a girl or all girl could wind up being even more confusing than helpful during that point in their lives?
