Scientific and non-scientific dating of artifacts has long been known as a very subjective science....depending on your pov or pre-conceptions artifacts worldwide can be used to prove or disprove theories....For example by all methods so far tested the oldest part of Stonehenge is the post hole in the car park....An "average" data date for this is between 3000 BCE to as far back as 8000BCE....The moument(s) that came afterwards are not as important as the "marker" of the place itself...its orientation latitude/longitude and geogrophy/topography etc....How better to smudge the issue with debates about age and importance....As with pyramids the location of the structure/artifact is paramount....Find out "why there and not there ?" and you may have a better basis to understand its use etc

There was another stone circle I discovered the other day, tracking ley lines from Stonehenge up to Lindisfarne. There is a hop connection from Lindisfarne with the Duddo Stone Circle which is in Northumberland but very close to the Scottish Border (smaller but also supposed to significantly predate Stonehenge which of was the pinnacle of the stone-circle-builders art, most of the small versions were isolated dry runs for the main event). Anyway it's mentioned on another very interesting multi-topical alternative site that's more than worth a look. www.973-namuh-eht-973.com.
