Congress Fraud on Obamacare

Apparently, both the Reps and the Dems have committed fraud by lying on official documents that the House and Senate only have 45 employees each to avoid having to accept Obamacare as their healthcare system.

I remember when they got it changed for them under the auspices of the needful staff and pages as being unfairly challenged by the burden, or some such rubbish. All citizens are the same...but not to these pompous asses.

One GOP presidential candidate, Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky, joined the majority in declining to investigate. Another, Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, sided with Vitter.

Perhaps the real reason is to cut the political legs out from under a few of the new guys entering the field? They talk big, but their actions dont sort of thing.

In all seriousness, this is the kind of thing that you have to take notice of as a day to day taxpayer. From what i am reading, it isn't Congress defrauding insomuch as collusion to create a special status out of governmental leaders. Its our own elected Royals.

But haven't they always had an awesome healthcare plan funded by us taxpayers? This is nothing new - just a continuation of benefits through the ACA, as opposed to some great scandal or fraud. They have always been outside the pale of average American's day-to-day lives, as far as I can see.

Certainly. Used to be, it was all government employees. When i was a state employee my health insurance was free, and made a Cadillac plan look like a Honda. My wife still works at the same place, and the insurance there sucks. Problem is: non-state insurance sucks even worse. So we choose the lesser of 2 evils.

Other than during my military service, I have worked in the private sector.
When I first started working, I had Blue Cross medical insurance. I had no co-pays of any kind, no deductibles and it was all covered by my small employer.
Then came a $10 copay for office visits. It kept increasing in increments each year, then the boss said that it was getting so expensive that we would have to foot part of the premiums ourselves.
My daughter twisted her ankle dancing and was in an aircast and on crutches for 4 weeks. She just got out of the cast, but I had to pay $100.00 towards the MRI, $49.00 for her crutches and $385.00 to various charges from the osteopathic doctor.
I twisted my ankle a number of times as a kid. I had to limp until it felt better.... no doctor ever looked at it. I would feel like a terrible father if I didn't take her for treatment, but this practice dragged me through the coals over a sprained ankle here.

They did, but one of the 'Pubs introduce wording into the legislation that actually made them part of the same rules the rest of us had to go by, and imagine that! When the bigwigs found out how onerous it was to actually have to pay what they decreed "affordable" was, they made a big stink and immediately set about undermining the law.

It did prove that none of them read it though.

I went to the doctors office today, they had a problem with my Medicaid coverage. It eventually got itself worked out but if it hadn't I was going to be on the hook for $1265 (that they normally bill) for a routine 15 minute meeting to get some medication renewed.

I almost walked out and said to hell with the medication, how can any 15 minute meeting for something 100% routine cost that I do every couple months cost over $1200?
