Sounds like this "Teacher,a son of David, king in Jerusalem" was having a very bad day

It does not take much pondering to know that all is change and nothing lasts forever

This does not render the nature of the Universe and our little place and time in it meaningless

Maybe this disgruntled one failed to find true meaning

Your post raises an interesting question, since it implies that you have found the true meaning of life.

What is it, please?

I always found ecclesiastes to be the only part of the Bible I could relate to.
Even now I can read it and get a lot of meaning from it.
Thank you for the inspiring post.

The Bible is not a science manual. Stop treating it that way, American Christians.

You are literally almost the only people in the world still doing so.

The Bible is a spiritual book (OT & NT) and the epic of the Jewish people (OT), stop trying to make this more than it's supposed to be it's getting ridiculous.

Lol ... As if I were stupid/arrogant enough to post a reply explaining the true meaning of life on ATS
I would be torn to pieces ...

But I will say this ...
There is a purpose to life and each finds their own purpose/meaning

So you know it, but won't post it?

Yes and No ... I would not post to tell any their purpose ... it is not for me to know your purpose ... you are your own sovereign
It is for me to know my own purpose and come to an understanding of and seek to fulfil it .... To reach my full potential for being on Earth ... I say the same for you ... Unless you have concluded that life has no meaning

Life has meaning ... everything has a purpose
Without a purpose life is meaningless

So Yes ... Life has meaning once it is understood there is a purpose

Why do you ask ... What are your thoughts on this subject?

Why do you ask?

Because the whole groaning, suffering world wants to know the answer.

What are your thoughts on this subject?

That there is neither an answer, nor any need for one.

Your replies seem rather contradictory
You say ...The whole world wants to know the answer yet you say there is no answer or need for one
Unless I am reading you wrong?

OK
So I assume the point you are making is
The World is suffering and needs an answer but there is no answer nor any need for an answer?

I am wondering what is the question you speak of
The meaning of life?
I can only presume you are saying that life is meaningless?

That's a lament about the knowing of the time. It seems that the harshness of life in that period of human development was lacking in the science and discovery we enjoy today. Had he lived in our time, he might have had a more positive few through a more refined knowledge of the universe. There is nothing more pitiful than abject ignorance.
