Good day ATS. With all the negativity I see on here and going on around the world in general, I felt like writing a random, albeit a positive rant, on
summer being right around the corner! It is something to look forward to, right?
If your like me, then your looking forward to the longer days, warmer air temps, and of course the sun shining! More time outdoors means more
breathing fresh air. So many of us spent a majority of our days indoors and don't realize how much more polluted indoor air quality is compared to
outdoor air quality.

Of course the next obvious benefit is increased physical activity because of the nicer days ahead of us! This equates to doing more of your favorite
outdoor activities, whether it's biking, fishing, running, surfing, gardening, etc. This will translate to lower levels of stress. Stress is the number
one contributor to disease, guys, so, if you don't have a favorite outdoor hobby yet, I suggest you pick one up! It's never to late to try something
your passionate about. I surf, and seeing 70 year olds out surfing kind of puts things in perspective.
More time outside also means more exposure to the sun, which not only literally makes you feel better , but also has countless health benefits listed
here. Oh, and for those concerned about the suns damaging effects,
more diseases are cause by LACK of exposure to the sun than exposure from the sun. If other words, your more likely to get sick by not getting sun
than by getting some sun. In fact, about 75% of Americans are vitamin D deficient. Ancient cultures realized how important the sun was to their health
that they bathed in it frequently and some even worshipped the sun for its life giving properties. On a side note about sunblock, I read something
about how sunblock actually causes skin cancer more so than UV radiation.
Source .It's sick how many chemicals are in them, and anything you put
on your skin gets absorbed through your blood stream. So skip the sunblock, unless your very fair skinned, then I recommend an organic sun block that
won't kill you!
So aside from the fresh air, increased physical activity, and increased sun exposure, what else do we got? Well, you add all of those together and you
better believe you will be in a better mood! The winter blues is a medical condition (termed SAD) and it's a fact that in northern latitudes during
the winter people become depressed. So in the summer, the opposite happens and everybody becomes happy! At least I do. So every bodies naturally in a
better mood, more positive, and smiling!
If your a young guy like me who happens to live at the beach, it's that time of the year where girls in bikinis are as abundant fish in the sea!
Because of this, I notice an increase in libido, testosterone, all that good stuff. I'm also working out more because I'm much more motivated to be
in shape this time of year.
The days are longer, so if you work a 9-5 job you can still enjoy the outdoors with your kids or dog when you get home.
You also get more in touch with nature; this time of your crops are growing, birds are singing, heck even the stay cats are thrilled that it's not
freezing out! If you have a garden, you can even feel a connection with your plants as they bask in the sun rays. Camping, hiking, fishing, or even a
little outdoor yoga are all ways to connect with nature.
For many on a teaching schedule, summer also means vacation time!
With all the crazy stuff going on the world today, I really do think it's important to cherish the small blessings we all have in our lives, for
example, the fact that summers right around the corner. Wouldn't you all agree?
