I saw this on the news yesterday I assumed due to the popularity of the song that someone must have already posted it.

I always loved this song, it brings smiles without fail.

Being from the west coast, this Kingsman version was not so popular. Paul Revere and the Raiders did the version that topped the charts out here. With that openning saxaphone honking. A little slower, more soulful I think. It was only later, like a decade or so, that the Kingsmen version began playing on the 'classic rock' shows that I even heard Ely version.

I'm feeling old now.

There's a fairly awesome rock n roll legend associated with this song, around halfway through the track the drummer dropped one of his sticks and shouted 'f***' as he thought he'd screwed up the recording but recovered in time and didn't miss a beat

Actually written and sung by writer of the tune Richard Berry. Many bands in the Great North West of the Country covered the song around the same time the Kingsman's recorded theirs.

II think The Kingsman's version Rules, loved it since the day it came out, still have the vinyl.
