Yup, I am a metal fan. My Favorites are:
Symphonic metal
Melodic metalcore
Power metal
Gothic metal
Folk metal
Derivatives of folk metal
Celtic metal
Pirate metal
Medieval metal
Pagan metal
Viking metal

I can't do electronic music. For any metal song or any song really I need talented musicians behind a variety of instruments. There are very few bands that I can tolerate a full album of only death growls. I am quite fond of beauty and the beast vocals though. The contrast really has a powerful effect on me.

But......the best thing of all, is there is so much variety that people who don't have the same tastes as me, have plenty to choose from as well.

Long Live Metal

It depends on my mood. When working in the shop, it is power metal: Helloween, Gamma Ray, Blind Guardian, Hammerfall, Hibria, Twilightning, Dark Moor, Angra and so on. Get pumped, stay pumped. Good stuff. ETA - Power Metal and Sewing Tactical Gear just goes together somehow.

My personal anthem has always been Helloween's 'I want out' for many [political/societal] reasons... and it is just a really great song.

The excessive sub-genres are vexing, as I am just as likely to listen to Ancient Bards, as I am Sabaton, as I am Carpathian Forest, as it is all metal.

I dunno, but Gamma Ray sings quite often about the NWO, Illuminati, the after life, ETs, social programing/psyops, and other 'conspiracy' regalia.

Helloween did too... Same lead singer.

8. Planetary Duality I: Hideous Revelation

They're extra-dimensional beings that an earlier precursor of the, um, space program they made contact with.
Uh, they, they are not what they claim to be.
Uh, they've infiltrated a lot of, uh, about a lot of aspects of, of, of the military establishment, particularly the Area 51.
Uh, the, the disasters that are coming, they, the, the military, I'm sorry, the government knows about them.
And, and there's a lot of safe areas in this world that they could begin moving the population to now.
They are not!
They want those major population centers wiped out so that the, the few that are left will be more easily controllable.

9. Planetary Duality II: A Prophecies Fruition

A vile adversary approaches with haste
The immense conqueror hides the sun
Final alignment is upon us, opening the dimensional door
Planetary interconnection releases the inexplicable force
A dark energy awaits beyond the portal in the celestial formation
The distant rumble of a cosmic hunger for mortal soul
Eternal transcendence denied
Solar winds from another world breathe chaos to a ravaged planet
A cosmic rebirth
Midst the smoke of contamination and miscalculation
The celestial ones; ageless, free of physical bounds, infinite energetic control
"I am the suppressed darkness inside of you"
The original keepers of time
Perimeters of consciousness
Imbeciles beg for salvation
No-one to answer their prayers
Pathetic germs accept demise
The manifest has failed
The cosmic force destroyed the barrier of realms
Infinite dimensions cross paths to re-create reality

It be great if it had some clean vocals to understand the message easier.

Epica has a few songs that have conspiracy lyrics. Politics and religion heavily dominates their music.

I've been listening to those dirty-butt vocals for 14 years, after a while the style grows on you and you can hear the words...for most bands like that.

I've never really liked hearing the words, though, it forces you to think about the music in a specific theme. I like not understanding what the vocalist is saying, then the vocals become another instrument adding to just the atmosphere and I'm free to imagine whatever I want.

I've heard them before, I like their music it's just...those...vocals

I love metal (and electronic) but not so crazy about operatic vocals, male or female. There is one exception however - Laure Le Prunenec of Corpo-Mente and Igorrr. It's glitch but its got some black metalesque tremolo parts. To me, she has a very powerful voice.

I've never heard them, I did check them out on Youtube, though. I found Lords of the Nightrealm and it has an old-school, Dark Funeral sound.

I'll definitely give the rest of their material a listen.
