Friends UFO Sighting

Been here for years but I don't think I've posted enough to create a thread in a different area, so I'm going to put it here. Hope thats ok.

This morning I posted a status on FB about the possible NASA Warp Drive news. A few friends commented and during the conversation a friend I havent spoken to for years vaguely mentioned a ufo sighting. I asked him to elaborate and he pm'd me and offered to call me as he didnt want people to think he was crazy. I said please do.

He doesnt live in this state anymore but Ironically this sighting took place within a mile from where I currently live. This took place in northern Indiana. I've never had anyone personally tell me an experience like this and found it very interesting. I don't know what I believe he saw, but I fully believe he saw something unusual. This took place in 1996.


He and around 20 others were working a nightshift at a facility were most of the work is performed outside. He was on a fork truck and had stopped for a sec and was looking at the clear sky.

He noticed a "haze" in the distance that seemed to be around 500' off the ground. It was odd so it caught his gaze for a while. While looking at it, it suddenly lit up and went dark again and returned to a "haze".

There were fellow employee's near by (One being ex airforce). He pointed it out and said "what is that". They kinda laughed it off at first but just for the heck of it he blinked his fork truck lights in its direction several times. It immediatly lit up and started moving toward them. This apparently scared several of his coworkers and they ran off. A few (including the ex airforce guy) although scared, remained fixated on the object.

It eventually was right above them He said it was absolutly massive (almost city sized) with football stadium type lights in a circle on the underside. He said it had an upper area like a second stage and was roundish in shape. Shortly after moving above their location, it phased out back into a haze then disappeared. He said when it was in the haze form he couldn't really see it And it was complely silent the entire time. The experience took place over 20-30 min from start to finish. They called the near by national guard and they said perhaps it was a blimp. He says it was no blimp.

Ive been interested in these things my whole life but have never had a sighting. This makes me hopful since it was so close to my current location. I've personally moved away from the extraterrestrial theory, and believe things like this are probably military, or something else.
