So much politics

I remember a time when ATS wasn't so co-opted by political banter. I came on here to read and learn about interesting things like ancient civilisations, general conspiracies and cover ups. However now it just seems like an alternative to CNN with there being a metric f-ton of posts about american politics. Where has this new influx of political commentators and spin doctors come from? Is there another forum where I can yarn about cool things of yesteryear? I have resorted to going through old posts in the forum but I have to actively know what I'm searching for whereas before it'd just always be up in the live section or the front page. Also, what is up with the top post always being an ATS post regarding their TV show. Who even watches that...

We in the US are enduring a supercharged socialist takeover.

That means that socialists are out in full force pushing their agenda on an hourly basis.

Those who would normally ignore politics can see the downward direction of the country and feel obligated to respond in kind.

Many have lost their jobs and going out has become difficult and expensive so there isn't much left to do.

I just didn't want to leave you hanging there with your completely legitimate observation.



I wouldn't say that it is ubiquitous either, there are still plenty of apolitical threads.

I totally agree.

I have many better things to do than worry about the pointless political system or thinking it matters who we vote for, but I am in self-defense mode since Obama and to a lesser extent Bush started getting elected.

I keep thinking it can't get worse then you see ANOTHER Clinton and ANOTHER Bush looking like the leading candidates. Something is rotten and it is getting people pissed off and more involved.

Frankly aliens are way more interesting.

Haha fair fair yeah, rather than have them bicker about which political party is better/ blame obama for everything, i wish they'd look into alternative solutions and see the two party system for the farce that it is and work toward fixing it. I have 0 hope for America and the world as far as the current state of affairs go. Doesn't matter who wins the election, they're just there to keep the masses passive - the wheels of evil will keep turning in the background. The world needs to move toward online voting on everything from internal policy to whether the country should go to war and more... Change can't come soon enough.

Happens during every american election season ... once elections are over the kiddies will be back to the usual ... grab a beer .. sit back .. relax and watch the show ... one day theyll wise up and realise the games rigged .. then we will have to find another form of cheap entertainment ...
