Went up to Brownsville, PA on Saturday for the Steam and Machine Show at the National Pike Steam & Horse Association with a couple of friends of mine.
Got to watch everything from a two stroke diesel powered Fairbanks Morse marine engine being started to some of the classic eighteen wheelers that
were on display for the car and truck show. Best thing that stuck out to me were the steam and diesel powered drag lines and shovels that were being
demonstrated. I don't think I have ever seen that many pieces of old construction equipment in operation at one time. With the gawking over the
machinery being done and out of the way. We had a blast doing it and the best part is that I'll be back up there this next weekend at Somerset for
the festival up there.
We decided to make a short twenty mile jaunt up to Connellsville for some railfanning that we had intended on doing if we had the time. We had the
time and we made the best of it. Even though the traffic was on the scarce side and the weather somewhat not wanting to cooperate. As we were sitting
just west of the yard at Connellsville. Everything coming from the east was either going in the yard to work or tie down to wait on a re-crew to come
and get whatever else was there. Those that were coming from Pittsburgh heading east were getting a re-crew just outside of town.
When we got there, we were quite surprised a bit to see these two working the yard. This was the remote control job drilling the yard with a string of
empty auto racks making cuts of cars up for the westbound runs.
The video should actually work for you guys. Where it is unlisted for right now it is showing that it is not working.
As this lone remote operation was working the yard with the empty auto racks. An eastbound coal train came into town after getting a crew change to
finish the run to Cumberland, Maryland. For some reason I did not bother taking a photo of this one. Maybe it was because of how slow this thing was
moving coming into town.
As for the weather not really being on the cooperative side of things. It goes a little bit of something like this. It had been raining off and on
since we had crossed the state line on the way to Brownsville. Figuring that the rain had stopped for a little while. We once again set up for another
eastbound coming our way that we had actually heard earlier as we were coming into Brownsville as it was coming up the Mon Line from being loaded. The
first photo is the same train that we heard about five hours earlier. It's not the best but it was what I could do given the circumstances.
This one was the last train that we saw until we got back home around midnight Saturday. CSX 644 leads a Cumberland bound manifest into town just
after it had stopped raining and after they had got a fresh crew on board for the run east.
Now that my long and tiring weekend is over and done with. It's back to the grind for me at 10 in the morning as I go back to work!! Plus, all the
videos from Saturday were thrown into one video and I'll upload that sometime tomorrow.
Now I feel terrible. I asked E-bay for help. That was a mistake! They issued a full refund without even reading what I had written. I told them in
the first sentence that I did not want a refund and was only trying to help the poor seller.
Oh what a wonderful world where a computer decides that a refund is the best option because the amount is not worth even looking at.
Makes me sad that I can't reach out and help.
It was only 100pcs Vintage 23x2.5mm Furniture Decorative Upholstery Nails Tacks Studs Pins. They sent the pretty bit but did not include the little
nails.
Good morning dear lady! How do you fare, on this dreary, leaden morn?
I finally managed some shut eye last night, and awoke with plenty of time to shake off the muzzy head which comes from an improper amount of sleep,
so hopefully I will be fully functional today... At least, to my regular shambolic standards anyway!
It was so nice to log in and see The Shed busy!! And the pictures! WOW! What an amazing good looking bunch we have. So I decided I would also
post a daughter pic
You know all of the daughters kinda look alike, I wonder if we were all abducted by aliens!!! LOL
I wish there was a way to make the weekends go by as slow as the work week, I bet there is an app for that
Now I'm sitting at my desk with coffee & French toast sticks catching up on all that I missed in the Shed this morning, I think it might be an alright
Monday.
Take care everyone and I will check back in soon.

We do not just have a good gene pool in this thread... We have a good gene lagoon, with coral reefs, angel fish, mermaids, dolphins, gorgeous
beaches, and great shoreside cocktail bars!
Heh, my little scamp makes me explosive with joy at all times!
I have to go to his school today to ensure that they start doing a better job of keeping him safe from physical assaults by his classmates. I am full
of steely determination, and volcanism today. I have some crib notes in my iPad to take with me, so that any infuriating behaviour on the part of the
teacher I am going to see, will not sway me from the points which need making.
Wish me luck all! If I do not come home with someone's head in a bag, you know it was a good meeting!

Oh Martin, your daughter is beautiful! So many beautiful kids in this Shed family!
I'll have to find a recent pic of little Cody and baby Brent, my two great nephews who I get to see quite often as they live in the apartment
downstairs. My own 'kids' are a Siamese cat, a turtle, a rat, a couple of frogs and some fish. LOL Yeah, not very conventional, but whatever. LOL
It is such a pleasure seeing our regulars return and posting again. This place almost died and it was hard as hell keeping it alive without you guys.
You have no idea how close we came to closing the doors and turning out all the lights. I have to thank Jane for bringing our little family together,
Jacy for bringing in the story element and all the people who have come and gone and breathed life into this magical place, Syx for staying by my side
and keeping the place alive with chit chat and story telling, the new lovely folks who have joined in and our ever faithful lurkers. From the bottom
of my heart, I thank you all!
Sweetie, you guys did an amazing job keeping this place alive!!
Our kids are all gorgeous, eh?
Just came back from the park where there's a small fair going on. I played the darts game and won a new toy for Sophie! Then played (and lost) $20
at the casino. Back home to cool off (it's SO hot/humid today) before taking supper to mumsy-in-law. It's a holiday here today, so not much is
open.
I'm glad to be home. (The Shed, I mean)...love you all,
jacy xoxo
Hi Guys! Just poppin in to say that! Hope you all have a good day!
ETA: They trashed my poem I wrote last night. It did look a bit suicidal I guess? It was from deep inside me at that time so it was what it was. Sorry
for that to those of You who wrote me there....
I have a copy, if any of you want to read it?..... Just sayin...
