However I do understand that in this discussion just postulating in a christian frame is taken as condemnation.
Do some Christians not say that ONLY CHRISTIANS will have an afterlife?
If that's not what you think, then I have misinterpreted your beliefs for a long time.
I don't think "being a Christian" is a prerequisite for an afterlife, a soul, or continuation as energy/matter in the universe in some form or another.
The question is, where each person will spend it. Eternal death or eternal life. "Hell" or heaven.

Wow. I think this thread has finally run its course. Who knew it would be a marathon?
I will never understand why Christians think telling people they will burn in hell, isn't derogatory. I understand from their pov it's neither right or wrong. It's just the truth. But it sounds horribly offensive to anyone from another/no religion.

And they think that we hate them because of that. What we hate is erroneous and judgmental beliefs. From our pov they have been brainwashed and follow the Bible directives.
And before anyone yell at me this doesn't apply to many Christians.

And it makes me think that one would WANT to be hated, because that would mean they are a TRUE Christian. If Jesus said it would happen that would mean that if they are hated then it must mean they are doing it right.

Yeah, that's it. We love being reviled by the world, and the subject of constant mockery. It feels great. We seek it out because "Jesus said so"...

Close Buzzy, but depending on the sect of Christianity, they believe everyone will have an afterlife. The question is, where each person will spend it. Eternal death or eternal life. "Hell" or heaven.
