In key swing states, weed is polling better than all potential 2016 candidates

i would say that it it actually increases abstract thought and healthy discussion which is why it is feared. I know a guy that would contemplate the meaning of the universe on a regular basis when in an altered state. He once planned the perfect way to mars and how to form a viable colony there, which was strangely like the one they are using now. also the quest for knowledge led him to this wonderful place so i understand why they dislike it so much.

But this is an interesting point and thread. It obviously is a major issue at this point, and law reforms are happening across the states. Makes sense it's gonna have to be a legitimate, significant issue this presidential election.

You would think so...but we aren't talking about actual conservatives.

We are talking about the current Republican party which is filled with religious zealots who think it is their job to legislate their morality onto others.

This doesn't surprise me one bit, seeing that the generational shift is occurring at full speed ahead.


The 88's of this country ( My way of describing sheeple, 88 being IQ) are beginning to die off and are being replaced by people that ARE NOT afraid to think independently. My grandparents and even my parents, who are now in their mid 60's, are not capable of producing a single independent thought. They only care about what they hear on CNN, Fox News, the POTUS and their priests.

They were raised in a different way back then when questioning anything would result in being scolded and ridiculed. The funny part is that deep down I know they know most everything they believe is complete BS; they are just afraid to ask questions.

In today's America it is not as easy for our leaders to just say something and have everyone nod their heads in approval and say "thank you sir may I have another". They will be questioned. Now we are still not where we need to be because the "real" news is still not attainable on TV and in the newspapers. People need to want to find the real news, which can be found online and in social media. The MSM is only a few years away from a COMPLETE collapse and it's a beautiful thing. I don't know ANYONE who is not an 88 that gets their info from the MSM, it's just a complete joke and everyone knows it lol.

I kind of wish Rand Paul would run as a different party, but I know why he stays connected to the GOP because he knows that right now, at THIS time, it is his only chance to win office. This country is not yet ready for a 3rd party, but give it another 10-20 years when all the baby boomers are 6 feet under. Believe me when I say that the two party dog and pony show will soon be extinct, and we can start taking our country back!

Well this is silly. I'm all for legalizing weed, but think about the statement "weed is out polling all candidates." Supporting weed is "yes" or "no" , two options. Candidates have support split between eachother, making the options much broader and support statistically less likely. Use your brains ats.

Really off topic man, wow, but I feel compelled to disagree with your premise anyway. I'm sorry, but the two party system is so ingrained in our nation even if everyone was for it, the reality of voting patterns, the monetary and competitive nature of running for office, cultural loyalties, and the benefit of system in general to the elite and their status qou; third parties will never being able to get off the ground in a serious way. I wish I could have your optimism, but I don't.

If you'd read the OP, I pointed out how the comparison is a flawed comparison. Hell, even the article points it out. I brought it up for other reasons, which I explained in the OP. So now the question is, did you read the OP or did you just read the title and decided to post?

I think the elephant in the room is how popular Hilary Clinton is in these polls. THAT is the shocking thing.

It's crazy here in the UK we have such draconian laws on weed here. I'm currently going through chemo for a brain tumour that has been proved to reduce in size with thc and cbd. Yet it is illegal for me to use safe effective cannabis treatment. Not even during chemo where weed actually eases my sickness and helps me maintain my appetite. The government are the criminals for denying this potentially life extending drug to me, because "they know what's better for me, despite most of them being crooks in one way or another. I'm the one in the eyes of the law that should be in jail. It's so sick and twisted I actually have to laugh

To be honest, I think the UK and the rest of the world is watching America closely to see how we react to the drug laws. Here's the thing. America is largely responsible for strong arming the rest of the world into signing the international anti-drug treaty that makes all drugs illegal including marijuana. Countries like Jamaica, Portugal, and Holland aren't totally complying, but the rest of the world is, and these other countries are probably thinking that once America relaxes its standards, then so too can they.

Keep in mind, marijuana is STILL a schedule 1 drug in the states and the Federal government would consider you a criminal too for using marijuana to treat your chemo pain. The Federal government's stance on marijuana is all the rest of the world cares about. States' rights mean little to them when it comes to drug laws. Basically, the sooner America legalizes medical and then recreational marijuana, the sooner the rest of the world will follow suit.
