I'm with you on this.
I loathe arrogant nationalism, and I see this kind of worshiping of such a symbol as a symptom of that irrational nationalism - this weird belief that someone is better than someone else because of where they were born, something they had absolutely no control over.

It's a damn flag, a piece of cloth, it doesn't mean anything more than the nonsense people put into it.
