and here's a closeup:

Each is on it's own panel as evidenced by the seam between the two right hand plaques.

Nice closeup shot! Also well said. I think this can be case closed on this matter, after that.

Poor journalism from BBC I gotta say, their picture does look messed up. That, what you posted there, is crystal-clear. Case closed, and thanks for the input because I started asking serious questions...
Just glad I could help. In a world where photo-doctoring is a common thing, it's a good thing to question anything that might be suspicious. Thanks for your vigilance!

Yeah, but I should've looked into the plaques before jumping to conclusions.

Still, I blame BBC... for everything. Including the fact that my wine glass is empty.

Google image search "NSA headquarters" It's about 30 images down after a bunch of other images taken around the vicinity, including the sign.

I was just amazed that Google was able to get the image up that quickly after I teleported from Alaska to Maryland, snapped the photo, and then dealt with slow 3G speeds to upload it to Fox's servers. Damn, Google is fast, REAL fast!

...we are the only part of the federal government that actually listens to what citizens have to say, after all...

here we go again the BBC is faking or whatever.

1. The original image is a zoomed telephoto thus distorting the depth of field and relative object sizes. Anyone with an SLR and zoom lens knows this.
2. Do you really think the BBC spent anytime faking a picture like this....for what purpose? ...... Nonsense.
3. The focus and colour (correct BBC spelling !) are correct as others have pointed out.
4. Is the readers belief system the driver of conclusions and not facts ......

I attest the following to be true...

  • The image is distorted, to suggest substandard equipment and/or skills.
  • My eyes deceived me and I failed to research the relevant information.
  • I had already been corrected in respect of my obvious perceptual error.
  • The BBC would manipulate journalistic material for want of political gain.

I think it means that "They listen, for sure. Through your telly. And mobile phone. Even your pizza listens."

Don´t know the deal with the picture, it seems OK.

But what about the event itself??
Don´t you find it strange - why were they dressed up as women?
    Wrong turn? Don´t think so!
Aren´t there signs telling you where you are going before you get to the security check?
    What were their purpose?

Here is the sign from a few different angles.

This photo wasn't doctored. The C.S.S. plaque is genuinely a lighter shade of blue.

Thanks for posting the sharper image.
Odd the lightning bolt in the seal on the left for Cyber Command isn't crossed?
Maybe they aren't as elegant as the Central Security Service?

During the 80's the CIA caught a lot of flack over the Miami Cocaine trafficking so I'm glad they are doing a better job of keeping it out of Meade these days.
