I know music threads aren't very popular on here, but that should never stop anyone from sharing the music they like. "The Human Abstract" and their original members are from LA and formed in 2004.

Their lead guitarist A.J. Minette is pretty spectacular. He is a student of musical theory and classical at heart. The band was considered mathcore/metalcore during their peak and had huge potential. This WAS one of my favorite bands until they broke up a few years ago.

Here are a few of my favorites...

This is their version of Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata" which I happen to find beautiful.

After he left the band, A.J. formed "Nobel" in order to reinvent himself. I'm not sure where he's going with this. I haven't seen anything new in a while so I'm curious as to what he's been up to.

I hope you take the time and listen to at least a few of these songs. If they remind you of a similiar band then I would absolutely LOVE to hear them. The only other mathcore bands I have in my collection are Blood Has Been Shed, Converge, Botch and Coalesce.

Sadly, other than Converge, they are all gone too. Post some mathcore please. And don't get snippy with the genre splitting. I didn't invent the word.

Thanks for sharing the music, very cool stuff. I enjoyed it.

I'm not sure if this counts as mathcore, but it's somewhat similar. August Burns Red. Check out the break downs and awesome syncopation in this one:

Awesome. I know them very well. I've got all their CD's and the latest was the best in my opinion. They have really developed their potential and it shows on their latest album.

F*ck load times.
