Can we have a 5 Star button for special posts!

I know, seems excessive and potentially abusive...


But every so often a gem appears that deserves more that 1 star (imo, maybe others too)...


I know we have the reply button...



But it's against T&Cs to scratch someone's back here, amarite?!?!



So in suggesting a 5 Star button.



Let's see if that's popular among the board!

You can also always alert a post/thread that you think is worthy of extra recognition/applause from staff. Alerts can be used for more than bad stuff.

We can't always read everything posted every minute of every day so if anyone ever feels like a post deserves a little extra "good" attention you can alert it.

Not an answer to your question obviously, but a workaround of sorts.

I guess it would still come down to personal taste though...

What I (or someone else) might feel is 5 star worthy, the mods who read it might not think it's worth an applause.

An ignore option wouldn't take away freedom of speech. You could talk all day, it's just others would choose to ignore your posts so to them, it's like it never happened!

In this case however, it was merely suggested that anything you STAR (or 5 star) can be ignored as an option. Again, not infringing on your right to star, err 5 star whomever you wish!

Charlie, I hear Ya here!!! I have wanted to do Multiples on some posts, and the OP in some Threads as well.
We could always do something like this, under the 'a reply to: Blah Blah Blah...'

Do like: *! *! *! *! *!, Like I did under Your's. There's the 5 Extra Stars AND Flags!! LOL!!!

(Umm, it DOES look like a flag doesn't it? You know, this: ! is the Pole. This: * is the star and flag flying...?)

Agreed, it would probably be too difficult, but one can dream!

Having an option to ignore certain member's posts wouldn't be that hard tho, many message boards have that option.

I think it's not a bad idea. Maybe this 5-star button could be used only once every week or ten days, to prevent overuse... this would ensure that members would only use it on a truly jaw-dropping post. reply to: CharlieSpeirs

damn you need five stars.
i miss the ignore button sometimes. wish they'd bring it back.

My OCD would cause me to single handedly break & over abuse this.

I would also like an ignore button and a block profile picture button so I dont have to keep punching my screen when little liberal wiggers pop up

If they give you a five star button, then the next thing all you guys will want is an "infinity stars" button.
