Dec. 19 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. President George W. Bush was named Time's ``Person of the Year'' in 2004 for his victory over Democratic challenger John Kerry and for ``reshaping the rules of politics,'' the weekly newsmagazine said.

Bush and his father, former President George Bush, are the only two members of the same family to have been chosen as person of the year, in 2000 and in 1991, respectively. Bush is the 12th person to be chosen more than once and the eighth president to be named multiple times.

The president was chosen ``for sticking to his guns (literally and figuratively), for reshaping the rules of politics to fit his 10-gallon-hat leadership style and for persuading a majority of voters this time around that he deserved to be in the White House for another four years,'' Time Managing Editor James Kelly wrote.

Ironicaly he beat Micheal Moore to it...

Bush beats Moore for 'Person of the Year'
Last year the magazine picked "The American Soldier."
"Obviously many supporters of the president will be pleased, many people who do not support the president will probably sigh," Kelly said on Sunday.
"But even those who may not have voted for him will acknowledge that this is one of the more influential presidents of the last 50 years."
Kelly said he and his staff debated giving the award to others including Karl Rove, the president's influential political adviser, and filmmakers Michael Moore and Mel Gibson.

The winner must be "the person or persons who most affected the news and our lives, for good or for ill, and embodied what was important about the year, for better or for worse," he said.
U.S. aviator Charles Lindbergh was Time's first "Man of the Year" in 1927. Some selections have been notoriously unpopular, such as Adolf Hitler in 1938, Joseph Stalin in 1939 and 1942, and Iran's Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini in 1979.

This year the magazine named the conservative "Power Line" as its first "Blog of the Year." Kelly said blogs, Web sites that often mix news, gossip and opinion, are "here to stay."

lol!! OMG, that's hilarious, both Bush being made "Man of the Year" and the cover proposed by Sauron. Mostly Sauron though, his ending was better than Times. Personally, I think it would have made more sense to nominate a woman as "Man of the Year," and yes, I know that would make absolutly no sense. But Bush being nominated makes no sense either! What has he accomplished this year besides being "re-elected?"

Does anybody think this may have been forcibly encouraged by members of the administration? I know its a small conspiracy, but it would not surprise me. Media manipulation and all that.

That's a good point,I would'nt be surprized at all myself of such a spin,it is more than possible that his P.R. Dr,s..would come up with just a thing.Let's face it he's ot very much liked anywhere on the planet...So the next best thing is to start a whole new P.R. campaign to make him more likeable, manipulting the media is'nt that difficult especially when you're the most powerful man on Earth...
But History keeps records too,so unless they errace all & brainwash as many people they could..he still remains a fanatical figure of Neoistic politicians...He takes the throne on that aspect alone...

What would be the 'Best' & most effective way for him to become a Saint..The man who saved humanity from it's own destruction...any Ideas..anyone..???

Does anybody think? I know it is. This is just Pro-Bush propoganda to make Bush seem like a hero, so that we the people, accept him as our dictator in the coming police state. The same kind of propoganda that turned Hitler into a hero.

Now, I actually know Bush is the antichrist. The prophecy that the Anti Christ would be liked/supported by everyone is coming true(apparently we are are not included in "everyone")

Also, this is an actual demonstration of the kind of power and influence satanic cults like S&B have, and how they use it to control and manipulate us.

Announcement: Did you not know, the owner of Times magazine, is a fellow bonesman!

Indigo you may have a point this link is about a religous site that sees Bush as the antichrist.

I am not a religious person but I do believe on the prophecies of the ancient.

1. Texas: Executing all the innocent, sparing only a guilty Satanist.

2. Bush the anti abortion campaigner, and your illegal abortion. 1970, before Roe v Wade.

3. Drug use, drug dealing, cheating your 15 and 30 year prison sentences, 1972

4. Dodging Vietnam, one year AWOL from the Texas National Guard 1972-3

5. Foul language. Who's worse, you or President Nixon?

6. Lying under oath, lying to cover your DWI. 1976, 1978 An alcoholic for 20 years.

7. Lying about adultery 1999. Tammy Phillips, the Texas stripper.

There's another 14 points..

The GW Bush interview:
The questions the Media omitted to ask

Mr President, it seems the standard of journalism in the USA has fallen hopelessly. As a result, during your campaign the Press failed to subject you to a serious investigation or a proper background check; you didn't even get an in depth interview. May we make up for that failure now? Thank you.

1). While you were Governor of Texas 130 people were executed. You spared no one (except the Satanist and child molester Henry Lee Lukas who had murdered around 200 people). Some of those executed were mentally retarded, some had incompetent or corrupt state defence lawyers. Several had evidence to prove their innocence, DNA in one case; some were foreigners and had their right of consular access denied, appeals from the governments of Europe, Canada and Mexico went unheard. You even ignored appeals from His Holiness the Pope in the Vatican.

Loads more on the site....

Well infinite when you have as much power as Mr. Bush and have powerful people behind you and Americans that will follow you blindly, you can pretty much become anything you want in this country.

Scary isn't it?

Wait Marg...there's more..lots more..

Is Bush A Satanist ???..emm...I wonder.
Here's a new American legend that gives me the blues. It does not involve a quest for knowledge.
Karl Rove and George W. Bush went to the crossroads on Old Cloverdale Road in Montgomery, Alabama, in 1972. There, over a big bag of coc aine and a bottle of Jim Beam whiskey, and in between some kinky homosexual love, they made a deal with the devil to get to the White House.

In exchange for this power, Rove and Shrub had to agree to completely fool the Christian population of America into believing they were on the side of God. So George Bush had to agree to stop drinking and doing drugs, go back to Texas and find himself a Christian bride and start talking openly about God in his public pronouncements.

www.southerner.net...

Forget the American pact to keep church and state separate, the devil said. To get to the White House, you must demolish the wall separating church and state.
What the devil didn't reveal to Rove and Bush was that this Faustian bargain would have far-reaching consequences for America and the world.
For about the same time, Osama bin Laden also made a Faustian bargain with the devil.
In his deal, he asked for more fame and power than all of his brothers in the Saudi ruling elite. What he didn't know at the time was the role he would play in the Rove-Bush deal, and the devil's ultimate plan for the earth: A global war between the Jews, the followers of Christ and the followers of Mohamid, a war to destroy heaven itself.

Isn't that something..you would think that maybe just a few people have a hard time eccepting this man,but I have found countless site a newspaper articles asking these though questions..How he got re'ellected..there's alot more to this man than what we small people can grasp..This is One Mega Conspiracy, call it what you want but this stinks of seriously rotten, decomposed bodies..and believe me there were a few that now have been silenced for good..The patriot act 2 is the next step on cleaning out all the sites and people daring to dispute his 'Unique' visions and plans for US all...

And now I'm Off...Star Trek just Started yippie....I've got Faith..Faith Of the Heart...

Time's Person of the Year does not necessarily equate with hero, humanitarian or the best of the best but refers to the most influential person of the year.

Person of the Year is an annual issue of TIME magazine that features a profile on the man, woman, couple, group, idea, place, or machine that "for better or worse, has most influenced events in the preceding year."

The title is, in ignorance, sometimes mistakenly assumed to be an honor. There was a massive public backlash in the United States after TIME named Ayatollah Khomeini Man of the Year in 1979. Since then, TIME has often shied away from choosing overly controversial candidates. TIME's Person of the Year 2001 in the wake of the September 11, 2001 Terrorist Attacks was New York mayor Rudolph Giuliani. It was a somewhat controversial result; Giuliani was certainly deserving, but many thought that the rules of selection ("the individual or group of individuals who have had the biggest effect on the year's news") made the obvious choice Osama bin Laden. They cited previous choices such as Adolf Hitler demonstrating that Man of the Year did not necessarily mean "Best Human Being of the Year". wikipedia

The case can definitely be made that Bush was the single most influential person in the world this year - regardless of whether you see his influence and actions as good or bad.

Horus, I consider myself radical and open minded in my views, but you are crazy

You have some good links on Bush basing.

I tell you "He will come and lure the people into believing in him and his Christian agenda"

The great deceiver.

I wonder where is Thomas Crown he will have a feast with this thread.

I forgot Seekerof has taken his place.

But I still like Thomas better.

With the exception of the post by my colleague Bleys who, as usual, brings basic facts and common sense to play, this is one of the most entertaining (albeit a bit silly) threads I've seen in a good while.

Thank you.
