Very true. It's sad because humans have the capability to be so much better than we are. We're the only species that intentionally destroys its own habitat, makes its own air unbreathable, its own water undrinkable, and drives its own food supply into extinction. We litter our lands with landmines, traps & artificially walls & moats to keep other humans away. We even intentionally kill off entire branches of our own species because they're not socially desirable.
I actually think that if there was intelligent life elsewhere, it would be nothing like us. The next step in "intelligent" evolution would be creatures that are hardwired to help each other & only compete in good things. Just imagine civilizations that didn't have to waste any resources or brainpower on wars, weapons, or law enforcement, because the citizens were naturally compliant & helping each other. That means no militaries, no intelligence agencies, no border patrol, no fbi/dea/atf/national guard, no swat or cops, no prison guards, no body guards or security firms, no martial arts dojos, etc. Now imagine all of those people & their collective brainpower & resources strictly working to improve the living conditions of the collective.
Without wars to constantly ruin civilizations & cause them to have to reinvent the wheel (among other things lol), those civilizations would have an endless period of technological growth. And if they instantly shared all gains & new processes/techniques, the rate of change would be staggering (imagine no patents, trademarks, etc -just becoming a hero for being the one who discovered the cure for syphilis). I'd think it would take them no more than 1000years from their creation to greatly surpass modern humans. Every life saving medicine is instantly available to all who need it, all metals & sciences are used to advance the collective, and politicians are rivals because one side prioritizes longer lifespans while the other prioritizes better quality of living.
Wow, what a rant. Guess I had that bottled up lol

Now,I sadly agree with much of that sentiment, mostly from reading history and seeing where we are headed.
SnF because at least you see it. What you're saying in short goes something
like this I believe." If we don't change our direction immediately, we may
end up exactly where we are headed"
But where are we headed? And how does it have anything to do with
what you want?
