Doing a bit of necromancing

I always wanted to know the evolutionary path of the ECS
and how this arrived in humans

but the thing thats weird is
they say its been in use on earth for 600 - 800 million years , but the cannabis plant hasnt been here that long
only 40 - 50 million years , so where did the early system arise from if the cannabis plant hadnt existed yet ?
other plants that contained cannabis derivatives ?
