What is your problem? The thread was about rumors, not about Putin

I think the "Putin is Dead" rumors were the result of combining wishful thinking with real events. For Putin to "go dark" almost immediately after the Crimeans were arrested for the Boris Nemtsov murder -- knowing the harsh realities of Russian politics, several analysts predicting Moscow could soon rapidly weaken, and a rising tide of irritated oligarchs loosing their fortunes -- the speculation was not without merit.
