This is going to be a mish-mash of recent thoughts, apologies.

Mostly this was prompted by this news story...

Please kill me now!

So much demand that it crashed the site!! The most popular petition for 2 years!! Forget any other issue bar non.. THIS is what matters most to the public... I despair, I really do despair.

I've come to the point chums where I am becoming apathetic and to be honest I don't like it.

How many of us are trying to 'fight the good fight' against tptb, raise awareness of the corruption, the blatant inequality of 'the system', only to be rewarded with a dumb stare and a shrug.

These are the morons we are fighting for, people that only give a damn about over paid, silver-spoon fed idiots... It's depressing.

Truly depressing.

I find myself caring less and less... tell me folks, is it worth fighting for?

It is utterly pathetic that like 700,000 people will sign a petition to back a bigoted moron of a man but really important issues takes months to get 10,000 or so.

One that I was involved in on another forum was this

epetitions.direct.gov.uk...

It just boils your blood how ignorant, stupid and clueless people can be.
How society has become so apathetic and hung up on celebs and tv and other nonsense while real criminals and scum and shady twats run our country and lie and cheat and steal and cover up and abuse...

Grrrrrr

Thanks for posting this. It shows explicitly the power of mind control, through television.

The sheeple care more about this pseudo celebrity than they do pedophiles or extremists.

I am with you in sharing the hopeless attitude regarding the future of mankind.

It's called conditioning, controlling the masses, just means there is more work to be done I guess.

I don't think Cameron should have commented on his suspension, as there is an ongoing investigation, nothing has been concluded. Still it was an opportunity for him to proclaim him as a friend and hopefully pick up some of Clarkson's supporters along the way.

Personally, I quite like Clarkson, but not enough to sign the petition.

I hear you. You have my sympathies. I remember when they had that big uproar over the Duck idiots. All this other stuff is going on but somehow some TV idiot is more important. Stupid.

I am at the point that I have pretty much adopted the motto "Losing faith in humanity, one person at a time." But I also try to counter that with "Life is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury; signifying nothing." Apathy is the only answer, in my opinion, to the zeitgeist we are presented with. As a whole, I just accept things are never getting better. All you can do is rally around family and hope you make their lives a little brighter.

Look at it this way: Giving up makes you part of the problem.

I hated cops, so I took a job as one. "Be the change you wish to see in the world." -Ghandi The bad apples screwed me and left me disabled. Unable to work ANY job, much less LE. But from time to time I fondly think back on all the people I was able to help along the way- crime victims, 'suspects' who were about to be wrongly charged by idiot cops, people with 'civil matter' problems who I took those extra few minutes to explain their options, the suicidal guy that I talked off the bridge.

If you're a good, compassionate person you WILL be f**ked by the ignorant, bad people. They can smell your good intentions like blood in the water. If you get knocked down- get up, dust yourself off and keep trying. Take solace in the fact that you're not alone, even if it seems that way.

I think you've hit the nail on the head.

I find it harder and harder to care, apathy is taking hold and yet to do that and give in is to become the problem.

.... but I'm stubborn as hell, I refuse to give in!!

Hang on to the stubborn. When you're lying on the floor- battered and bloodied. You need to reach down deep and find the strength to drag yourself back up. Rebelliously glare in the face of the oppressors and sneer, "Is that all you got?"

We're on the same page. Boils my blood to be honest, but no, don't give up, keep fighting, the world needs more people who give a toss, not less!
