I had a brinks home security in the 90's. If my alarm went off, my phone line called them so they could make sure everything was okay. I lived in a
split level house and even though the control box was upstairs, if I was downstairs at the other end of the house, they could hear me speaking in a
low voice. It was really freaky. Also, no matter how quickly I cancelled the alarm, they would be called. So they could hear me without speaking if
they wanted and I know they would listen for a few seconds before asking me for the password. It took a while to get used to.
I can imagine a CCTV that would live stream to some agency.
