Iran has a restive pro western population. While Irans history is full of attempts to disrupt other regional powers, since 911 Irans main targest have been Taliban, Al AQuisda and ISIS. During this time from the invasion of Afganistan on the US had an awkward level of cooperation with Iran. Much like Israeli cooperation with Arab states it all has to be kept on the QT with somebody in the middle playing mediator. Down the road Iran and the US have mostly common interests in the the Mid East. To all that the decline of Russia as a world power and its failure to do anything to save Assad has made it clear Iran stands alone. For the US Iran has already been a partner in the war on terror since 2001 simply off the record. Iran and the US have a common goal to get santions lifted, Western investment into developing Iran's massive natural gas reserves to end Europes gas needs on Russia. The same for Irans oil which would keep oil prices down.

The simple fact is the US and Iran have made common cause for over a decade. They both have something the other needs. They both have nothing to gain from hostilities. And Iran is under no illusion it can not maintain its current regime without threat of revolution. This is not rocket science people. We have seen the same thing happen when Egypt and the Arab states moved completely into the Western camp.

What would be interesting is Israel losing its last boogyman. Heck the US is almost in the same boat, outside of declining Russia and North Korea the only US boogyman is China who seems to be content to stick to its own region and ignore the rest of the world.

Okay, so it's not an "empty question" because if we all know that they have them (and probably provided by us), and they have not threatened to anihilate any countries on an unprovoked offensive, then we can logically claim that they are peaceful with their nuclear arsenal--at least up until the moment I have typed this.

Iran, on the other hand, has been shouting claims of anihilation for years, and they don't even have nukes. So, they have obvious aggressive tendencies, and our Sec. of State wants to just allow them the technology that can create weapons-grade uranium and expects them only to use that for peaceful purposes?

Well yes it is....

We don't have evangelical christian nations wanting it to happen, we don't have 50,000 evangelical Christians raping, pillaging and plundering a country... thinking about it....they are way beyond rape, pillage and plunder, those are almost sane things compared to what is going on over there right now.

A good chunk of Jews in Israel are Americans too... All Jews in America are associated with Israel across many different levels, we been connected for a long time now...

Iran had an interesting statistic, and I really need to dig it out to get it right but it was something along the lines of Iran didn't want to eradicate and kill all the Jews in the world, nor did it want to kill the civilians in Israel, just get rid of the state of Israel.. The commentator had gone on to state that Iran was the only Middle Eastern Country to have a Christian Church, A Mosque and a Jewish Synagogue on the same street in ti's capitol.., as well as having sizable Christian and Jewish populations that live in harmony with their Muslim neighbors within Iran..

I find that to be remarkable for a country that everyone claims is so hell bent on nuking "all the Jews" out of existence...
