Another radioactive water leak in the sea has been detected at the crippled Fukushima nuclear plant, the facility’s operator TEPCO announced. Contamination levels in the gutter reportedly spiked up 70 times over regular readings.
The sensors are connected to the gutter that pours rain and ground water from the plant to a bay adjacent to the facility.

Comparing Fukushima to Hiroshima is probably an exercise in futility. Undoubtedly, the Fukushima accident has release many times more radiation than the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima, but putting a number on that would be difficult, as well misleading. The initial Hydrogen explosions at the plant probably released a few times more radiation that Hiroshima at onset, and the continued leaking and fission products of the Corium are still contaminating huge amounts of the water off the Eastern Japanese coast.
