So a while back I popped in to my local game store to poke around. There was a trailer up on one of the screens for Unity and I asked the employee how the game was. His response was, essentially, "completely broken." He went on to explain how it had serious design issues on day one that required some significant patching. At the time, I passed.

Been playing Black Flag again, but am admittedly a little bored with it now as this is my 4th play through.

Does anybody have Unity? Is it patched fully? Functioning right? Worthless? What do you like about it? Hate about it? I want to pick it up but don't care to get it if there's still problems being ironed out.

Also, totally unrelated, but am I the only one thinking the next Mass Effect can't get here soon enough?

I got AC: Unity day one and never experienced some of the game-breaking bugs reported by the media. The worst glitch i had was the protagonist being stuck holding onto a wall, which required a checkpoint restart. Other than that, the game ran fine, albeit with the occasional frame-rate drops. I played it last month, and i didn't notice any significant changes...probably a smoother experience, but not much difference to what it was before...

Besides the frame-rate problems and some other issues which should be fixed by now, the game is probably one of the better AC games. It has better mechanics than some of the previous instalments, which were beginning to feel stale.

So was it more hit and miss? Platform specific maybe? Dude didn't really explain too much in the way of details.

Agreed on the staleness. The one thing that's irritated me for a while with the series is the propensity for the character to jump into objects as they pass by. Trying to run down a street or path and suddenly you're climbing a wall. Has caused me to utter a dirty word more than once.

Are there any major changes? Or just tweaks?

I passed on Unity for the same reasons, broken. I will wait awhile and pick it up in the bargain bin, I assume it will be traded in a lot considering the backlash it got. I must say the clerk at your game store is a stand up guy, a lot of them would lie to get it sold, found out the hard way not to go on their word. I am looking forward to the next Mass Effect alright but there is another game rumoured to be announced at E3 2015 that will blow it outta the water, Fallout 4. I nearly jumped up and down with joy when I seen Bethesda booked a slot at E3.

On Unity I've read that the combat is somewhat slower than previous incarnations, dunno if I'd like that.

Yea, this particular one is a good guy. I've been in often enough that he recognizes me and we almost always have a good chat while I'm in there. He hasn't steered me wrong so far.

I tried like hell to get into fallout. Never could for some reason. Can't put my finger on anything. Same with the halo series. I recognize they're amazing games, but for whatever reason they just don't do it for me.

Ahhh yes fallout four I hope they don't change it to much..although one change I would like to see Is a vats only mode that would be cool but it should be optional though..but if you are looking for a new game give witcher 2 a try..

Ah I'm like that with halo myself, could never get into it. I think I'm just a Bethesda fanboy lol love a lot of their games. Another good one to look out for in the summer is Arkham Knight from rocksteady.
