So I'm just playing with my puggle and I see this:

I'm taking her to the vet tomorrow of course, but I was hoping one of you smart people here on ATS would have some kind of idea of what this may be.

I'm a bit worried it could be some type of cancer, thanks guys for reading and sorry to bother you with this

Edit: Not a tick, no need to star, look further down in thread.

It's kind of hard to see, but could be a tick.
If it is a Tick, here is a little info how to remove them, but eventually it will release its grip when it's done feeding.

That was my first thought, but it's a black bump and reddish skin around it. I doesn't LOOK like a tick but it is possible I suppose. It's in the inside part of her leg. We had constant snow up here for the last two weeks now and I don't see how she could have gotten it.

Thanks for your reply, if it's a tick than the vet will remove it and she'll be ok hopefully

Yeah, it's not common for ticks to be around in winter time, but it can happen.

Here is a little about winter ticks, not to worry you but they do carry some nasty diseases, so a trip to the vet might not be a bad idea.

Thank you for that! You have indeed worried me a lot but at least now I know better. I used to stop giving her the tick stuff during the winter but no more.

Here's a better close up if it helps at all:

It's an implant. Your dog is bugged.
Could just be a hemangioma. They're usually benign.

I'll ask my girlfriend when she gets home in about 45 minutes.

I thought it looked like a tick.

I found something similar that might explain it.

This looks like a blood blister, not a hematoma. A hematoma is usually a bruising under the skin. An ear hematoma is a ruptured vessel under the skin.

In the meantime, can we see a pic of the whole pup? Puggles are adorable.

So for now don't mess with it. There is a larvae that if damaged may release stuff that kills our pup. Still looks like a tick to me. Can you post anymore pictures? Like a close up and one from the side so we can see how much is coming out? Glad you're going to go to the vet.

Not if you look at the second pic., it look more like a small wound that has bleed, as it says in one of the links i provided, probably nipped the skin when grooming itself.

Anyway i think the little pug will be just fine.

If it is cancer use baking soda and molasses
If infection use colloidal silver

Wish I had time to convince you it works

Girlfriend hates diagnosing things online because she just can't realistically, and worries people may forego taking a pet to the Vet if they get enough armchair specialists saying something isn't a big deal. She was really happy to see that you were taking the pup to the vet.

She thought both would be odd considering the season, but tick or possibly cuterebra, maybe blood blister. Pics weren't quite good enough, and she would have wanted to actually feel the thing. She refused to nail it down, and while I look like a douche for saying she could tell you, I have to respect her, and her medical training/refusal to misdiagnose a picture over the internet.

You're gonna regret asking me for photos
here's when she was baby

Here's when she went to Boston:

And in typical ATS fashion, her trying to prove to me that ghosts exist:

Update on topic: after going to that blood blister link and googling a few pictures, it definitely looks like a blood blister so I'm happy about that. The appointment is later this afternoon so I will update you guys with what the vet says.

I understAnd the concern over not going to the vet, that's why I wanted to make it clear from the start I was taking her regardless, I was mainly concerned it was some type of cancer
and I selfishly wanted to put my mind at ease about that.

Thank you everyone for your help I really appreciate it

What did the vet say? My dog has a similar bump, and I’m anxiously awaiting the vet visit. Hope your pup was okay 💓

Hi! It was absolutely nothing besides me being an overly worried dog parent. The vet was happy we brought her in and said we should always bring them in when we’re worried.

I will say though since this five year old post my little girl did end up going to heaven for a completely unrelated reason. She was a sweetheart and I think of her everyday.
