To be fair SO, if you look at the history of the Central African Republic since independence from France it has been one of non-stop and internecine tribal and religious warfare that leaves no particular tribe / creed etc looking very good at all.

Perhaps some of the reasons the trouble in C.A.R. receives little or no exposure from MSM here in 'the west' are that a), there's relatively little mineral wealth there and b), it perpetuates the 'myth' that large parts of Africa are, and more or less always has been, riddled with internal disputes that cross all tribal, cultural and religious groups and that corruption, intolerance and bigotry are endemic there.

But of course it wouldn't quite be politically correct to point that out.

The area they hold isn't an alarming size. There are cattle stations (ranches, for our American friends), in Australia that are individually close to that size.

I'm not downplaying the importance of those figures, but when placed in context, it really isn't a huge area.

I too worked with muslims. I found that they are very astute at pretending to be moderate. As I've mentioned here before, because of the many different nationalities there, they spoke mainly English, and I overheard several damning conversations they had with each other when they thought I wasn't around.

So, while I can appreciate your sympathy, methinks they have you fooled, as is their intention. And the other poster here is correct, "good" muslims need to rise up and clean house. If they do not, then islam as a religion is doomed to cult status, and will be eliminated by a unified world desire to stop the madness.

I know people will claim 'problem, reaction, solution - we're being led further into endless war, etc, etc..' But come on. Burning almost fifty people alive? NOBODY deserves that.

Nope. Thought about it, but not even the ones who think it's okay to do such awful, inhuman, barbaric, demonic things, as the result of some warped, perverse, militaristic insanity deserve to be burned alive. I'd punish them, and execute them summarily. But I wouldn't burn them alive.
