It honestly looks like a rip off of the Dead Island franchise, so on that note I'll be waiting for Dead Island 2, I have just been brought a PS4 and only have a few games, infact this weekend I'm treating myself to Shadow Of Mordor and I honestly can't wait.

Arkham Night I've put at the back of my mind until release, it's been an agonizing wait for another RockSteady Batman game, I've also avoided all teaser game play videos, i'm not spoiling a single moment of it.

Thanks for all that replied, think I am gonna wait for dying light to drop a few pound before buying. Dragon age looks impressive and I'll be able pick it up cheap enough. There is a serious lack of games out for the ps4 so far that I'd enjoy, traded in my 360 to soon. Lol

Iv got a ps4, and gta 5 has been out for the next gen consoles for a while, im currently playing through dying light, I'm at about 45% right now and I really like it, it's mostly hand held weapons but firearms are plentiful enough that you'll use them on a regular basis too, all the handheld weapons are customizable, you can add electricity, fire, and toxic effects to them, and you can craft many types of grenades and throwing stars, such as freezing, toxic, fire, exploding, and so on. I'd say it's worth buying if your looking for something fun to play, also look into these great games:
Farcry 4- FPS lots of guns and explosives, need I say more?

Dragon age- RPG, free roam but the areas are separated, loads of side quests

Minecraft- HUGE map and many different ways to play, lots of collecting/crafting and it's only $20, can't beat that

Call of dudy advanced warfare- linear but an awesome story with great cut scene moments

Evolve- I just got this one yesterday but it seems promising, it's 4 hunters vs. one big monster, and you can choose to play as any of them

Gta 5- enough said

Shadow of mordor- cool story line and gameplay, cutting your way through armies of orcs and orics feels awesome, gets a little repetitive but still worth a playthrough just to possess a couple lieutenants and watch them team up on a warchief as you watch from above

Get dying light you won't be disappointed, I have played the dead island games and I find that dying light has the edge over the DI games. I have been playing it for 2 weeks now and I am only 58% completed on main story line the side quests and exploring will keep you busy plus the awesome ways you can slice zombies up you can't go wrong.

Played shadow of mordor (good game), GTA 5, far cry 4, cod and had minecraft on the 360. Evolve does look good but if you don't go for the special edition it ends up as a bit of a money grab. £15 for one monster.

That's what I'd like to hear, I don't want to be dropping £50-£60 for a game that lasts 15 hours, if I could get a couple weeks to a month outta it I'd be interested in getting it now. Is the pakour system good?

I don't play FPS games, OP, so I'm not much help probably. I will say this though:

BLOODBORNE! PS4 exclusive, spiritual successor to demon souls / dark souls 1. Comes out end of March.

Have only seen a snippet about it, didn't know it was going to be along the same lines as demon souls/dark souls. I am a sucker for punishment, dark souls 2 was good. Lol

I've done Dragon Age on PC. If you like having really large areas to run through, it's pretty fun. The biggest problem is that they lack balance between the main story and the areas, so you can easily finish the main story without needing to touch several of the areas if you don't want to.

If you hit all the main areas in it, you can easily clock upwards of 120 hours or more, and I'm not talking a completionist play through. But that really stretches out your main storyline so that it might feel a bit disconnected to you.

Would it be as an alive world as one of the fallouts or elder scrolls games? You could get lost just wandering around and having random encounters. I love that kind of experience.

You can always go back through areas and things will respawn, but there will also be changes too based on what you have done in the storyline.

For example, deal with a certain group one way and you ally with them and you will be greeting their peaceful patrols as you travel back through that area. Simply clear out their stronghold and you will always be clearing our their patrols as you travel back through their area.

There are other examples.

LoL # im sorry OP, I will attempt to not hijack your thread too much here..:

Dark Souls 1 was a brilliant, amazing game. I put over 3000 hours into it.
By comparison: Dark Souls 2 was the worst POS ever put out. I had started writing a "letter to the editor" of sorts called "10 Reasons DS2 Was The Worst Game Sequel In History, & I'm Already at 11 Reasons". I liked DS2 & put about 500 hours into it. Now onto my point, lol.

The lead designer for DS1 & 2 were different people.
The lead designer for BB & DS1 are the same person. In interviews he said he wanted to get back to the series-style roots of Demon Souls. DS1 was considered a spiritual successor of demon souls, but it was so much more than that. I never played demon souls until after thousands of hours into dark souls. The unique gameplay was the least of the "successor-ship" & the parallels between the two worlds zones was amazing.

Look up some vids on BB, it looks like it will be mind blowing, especially if they improve on the multiplayer aspect of DS1, which was already stellar & unique.

Might be worth it so, I could pick it up for around £25, finances factor a lot into my gaming these days. Gotta feed the kids and pay the bills before I even think about spending anything on myself lol

I understand that one. I tend to pick up mostly the cheap indy games off of Steam these days. I might get one or two major titles in a year ... maybe.

Same here, long gone are the days when I could buy every game that looked half way interesting. Hell the only reason I could afford the ps4 was trade in against the 360 and the absolute tons of games I accumulated before my sons were born. Got most of the trade in value from the games.

Dying light is made by Warner bros and Techland , Techland is also behind Dead Island , and Dead Island Riptide.

I really enjoyed Dead Island , even though it got mixed reviews i think it was great , especially the ragdoll physics where great finally there was a game again where i could ninja kick whole packs of zombies down the stairs.

Dying light i had in my scopes for a long time , Freerunning/ parkour meets zombies , I got it on the PC on the release date , have not played much , because i do not wanna fly through it , i am around 38 % now but what i have seen already is very nice.

The game is a bit harder then Dead Island , where you would encounter maybe 15 to 30 zombies in a group , in Dying Light you will get swarmed by many more , also Life does not Regen to 100 % like in other modern FPS games.

So you gotta stock up on Medkits and medkits and other supplies , like lockpicks , and other stuff you are gonna need to survive , there is a crafting system , you can craft stuff yourself , no need for a workshop table like in dead Island.

The Day/Night cycle is interesting also , as you will face some interesting mutated geezers , and some places you do not wanna go during night without the proper supplies.

Lots of stuff to do , side missions , challenges etc

Interesting game so far
