Michael Ross, who has admitted to killing 8 women, has said that he wants to put an end to the appeal process in his case, and wants to die.
The public defender immediately tried to intervene, claiming that Ross was incompetent, although there is no reason to believe it. Ross will be
evaluated by phsychiatrists Dec. 28 to determine his competency.
A state judge ruled that there were no grounds for the public defender to intervene.

A state judge ruled Wednesday that the public defender's office has no standing to intervene in the execution of serial killer Michael Ross.
Judge Patrick Clifford's decision clears another hurdle for Ross, who has said he no longer wants to appeal his conviction and sentence and wants to
die. His execution is scheduled for Jan. 26.
