Another member suggested that it may be an "action cam" like a GoPro mounted to a hat/helmet/somewhere on his head, i.e. he wasn't holding the camera in his hands... Which makes sense if you watch the video with that in mind.

Honestly I tend to react less, the more crazy something gets (car crash, tree fall, etc). It's just a personality thing.
Some people react differently, but I wouldn't use his silence as any kind of indicator of hoax. In fact, it appears that he attempts to put the oars away as quietly as possible (though fails somewhat since a canoe is basically a sounding board).

Amazing if this is true. . I'm not that familiar with big foot and stuff l.. but it looks real . I once also have heard a story about alien beings that look like apes don't know if that's possible?

Exactly. Its more profitable for those making money in the bigfoot trade not to find the thing.

I appears he contacted Cryptozoologynews first from what I am reading. I think the other site may have ripped the story off as they differ only slightly, but the original does not say BF dove underwater and disappeared....it actually seems like a bit more of a genuine story from this article. They also state that the Matt in the story is from Wimauma...name Matt M. from Wimauma....haven't searched but would guess there are not TOO many of them to narrow down.
It also states he was a tree service worker.
Source of Original Story
I also tend to believe this was the original story as the video they have on their site is in HD which is how it would be filmed from a GoPro or the like...better quality and larger video you can see the end of the canoe very well in this one when the camera turns.
The site also states at the bottom:
If you have any questions or if you would like to get in contact with an eyewitness, please contact us.
Which would tell me they have means of contacting Matt.....someone here care to contact them to confirm this story? Or are we going to continue to debate the authenticity without any further research?

Interesting! I am a skeptic...but..
So I google mapped where the video is purported to be taken.
Plenty of terrain and shelter..OK.
Scrolled through 60 pics of Lettuce Lake park...Foliage matches right down to the trees and even the leaves that can be made out in the video.
Also found a citing account from a wildlife biologist less than 9 miles away from 2013...describing a creature of color and proportions to what the video shows..
www.bfro.net...
I am a little stumped on this one...No one in a Gorilla Suit moves with that ease and confidence through a dense swamp. An illegal pet ape that was released?
