What Has ATS Done for You?

I found Pat who intrigues me. Found "pronto" and enjoyed his comments. (Sadly missed) but I do enjoy a good read and laugh so I'm on here a couple of times a day. The spin on current events is more interesting than the news but I do also miss those that used to post good reading material/factual backed up with some research albeit coupled with a personal bias.

Where are those contributors nowadays;

I've made threads like this before, I've learned it's not ATS that's the problem, it's usually me wanting more from life. But I always come back.

For me ATS is a sort of therapy, a place where I can come and let off some steam during the day when I am stressed. And a place to relax and learn during the evening.

ATS: providing a window into the reality of humanity internationally and it's opinions; providing an organised and mostly well managed facility to voice one's opinions and share information and facts, especially on things not normally covered by MSM; plays a role in educating and informing; sometimes fun, there are some humourous members; as a lens into human psychology; as a pastime for those that prefer cerebral / philosophical pursuits; for realising that there are others of similar nature; hopefully for constructive societal progress; and more.

I learned just how pervasive pysops are as I witnessed ats transition from objective discussions of the unknown by rational people in 2006 to derailing debunkers beginning in the fall of 2009 continuing at at very rapid pace in 2010 and beyond.

After many rants calling attention to the obvious change in flavor of this site (under another name), I happily realized that the power of debunkers to control the thoughts and opinions of the masses has little effect.

A great awakening is occurring in spite of massive resources dedicated to maintaining the status quo of ignorance.

ATS has given me the boost I needed to do more research. Without it I get stagnant on one subject and can't properly see other perspectives.

If you think ATS did nothing for you OP you aren't looking at the whole picture. Everything we learn changes us, it modifies who we are. Now, just because you did not get paranoid or turn into a conspiracy theorist does not mean you have not learned from this site. Most people cannot even tell they have changed.

Since I came here I boosted up my preparedness for future problems. I have gained much peace of mind from this. We can survive for months till we can replenish our food supplies. I have reinforced the fact the most important thing in my life is not society, it is friends and family. Prestige is not nearly as important as just having some hot dogs and burgers at a bbq with friends and family.

You just weren't here long enough to learn how to use what is learned here OP.

What has ATS done for me.

helped me kill a few hours on days off when i get a lil board.

Not much else.

There's lots to read here and learn, but mostly I laugh and think, phew, woo wee, some of these people jumped right out of a box of cereal, especially the Religious Forum, and a few others , like this commercial ;

I have learned that Doom Porn is a passion shared globally.

I have learned that crazy is a global thing (haven't really learned that as it was laready obvious. Just been provided with much more evidence!).

I have learned that Obama is an illegal alien from Mars (or something like that anyway.....i get lost......)

I have learned either that winds carry trampolines to Scotland in increasing numbers OR that Scotland is paradise for travelling trampolines.

I have learned that intergalactic travellers have come throughout history so they can build things in stone just to fox our heads (the sneaky devils).

I have learned that terror attacks never really happened and were just very clever CGI.

Lots of things really, usually good fun, often informative and nearly always brings a smile to my face.

ATS has done a world of good for me. I have met amazing people and call some of them 'friend'. I have laughed and cried with people here. I have learned and expressed much. To come back just to put the site down is ridiculous.

Ah, but how can people come back just to knock the site down? If they are participating on the thread that means they haven't really gone away in the first place, doesn't it? (scratching head now).

I love ATS but like anything else in life, it certainly deserves ridicule where appropriate - nothing should be sacred from that.

Anyone can complain at any time, but the OP thinks the site is a waste of time. So why bother coming back?
